I never said I was a winner, dude. I merely stated that if I wanted to blow my money on the Packers, its ought to be within my rights as an American to do so. It is not the job of the government to decide that I'm not allowed to be a "loser".
Furthermore, if you look into sportsgambling, you'll find its more similar to the stock market than a slot machine. There ARE wise investments to be made.
I know this is a joke and all, but as someone who is a gambles on sports online and would like to continue doing so, I can assure you that gamblers would rather have someone in the white house who doens't have a christian right stick up his ass about issues of vice.
Barney Frank is the only elected official I've found who talks reasonably about the future of gambling. (Namely, let people do what the hell they want with thier own money) (Funny, you'd think that should be a Republican stance... but it isn't.)
I get the feeling, that even if we made it peacefully into the era of molecular assemblers, that there would still be the rich and poor.
Land, and the resulting, say, Iron atoms on it, would become extremely valueble. Of course with any luck the masses would outnumber the landowners by so much as to revolt and take whatever atoms they need, but I could see some jackasses trying it at least. ("Oh, you need GOLD for that computer you are trying to replicate? 15 cents an atom please.")
why do i want to watch other people play football when i can play it myself? ive held that attitude for a long time.
My answer to this has always been that there is a big difference between playing 3 on 3 catch with some friends and actually having a 100 yd field and all the equipment, and at least 22 guys to do this with. It's just not feasable.
You seem to believe there is no risk or hard work involved in sacrificing one's education for to practice athletics daily. Athletes stake their whole lives on this! Furthermore they injury everyday on the job.
Plus once they make it they make hundreds of millions for their corporate overlords! How can you claim they don't deserve a cut of what is earned on their backs?
Seems messed up to me. Shouldn't the bank be able to discover it is a fraud BEFORE clearing the money into your account?
At very least it seems to me there should be a maximum number of days the bank can hold your responsible for, after which the transaction is deemed void or legit.
Of course the laws are probably written in favor of the banking industry...
Its different than your average MMORPG because they are incorporating the spending of money into the gameplay.
Paying a flat monthly fee for Everquest may not be everyone's bag, but its basically no different than cable TV.
What this game is doing is exploiting the ugly growth of ebay sales that has plagued games like Everquest by making spending real world cash part of the in-game experience.
I understand that it probably has more features than anyone would ever need, but if you look at the website its selling for 87 to 105 UK Pounds. Thats not much above the figure of 75 that you quoted paying a long time ago.
Now granted, the price should be way down on the old model thats was good enough for you, but far be it from me to begrudge an up and coming geek who wants to spend his own 80 pounds on a new calculator just like you did while coming up.
3 RTS and 3 FPS... 1 Sports game. I'll admit to not knowing what "survival project" is.
They need to round out the categories a bit more. Maybe a racing game, a fighter ala Street Fighter and its ilk.
And of course they need some turn-based strategy in here. I'm probably just a big dork, but I'd rather slowly watch a 8 person multiplayer game of Civilization unfold than watch people frag each other OVER and OVER and OVER.
I'm not so sure about Final Fantasies, which are set in another universe, but it would be cool to have real-world games take advantage of this when appopriate.
It would be a neat side feature, to say, Madden Football games, if when you played a Buffalo-Miami game and it was pouring in Miami in real life, it was also raining in game.
I think its because it would be cost-prohibitive for them to acquire rights to re-publish the old NES ROMs made by defunct 3rd party publihsers.
These 3rd parties also realize how big a seller a Cube disk of all the NES Roms would be, and I'm sure they'd want a piece of the pie before they gave up their ROMs to Nintendo.
As for 1st Party Nintendo-brand games, I think they HAVE re-released them all by now.

Alone, but plenty of support in Minnesota, I'm sure. . :-)

Wow.. last time I checked Supreme Court justices did not have party affiliations. Just...wow.
damn, that comic never ceases to amaze me in its lack of humor.
Why the hell would I watch people play something I could be doing myself?
Where in the hell am I supposed to find a 100-yd marked football field and 22 guys to play with, plus referees?

However, it is feasable to set up a Quake server.
Eh. I'd rather frequent a company that was interested in making labor feel good, rather than the customer.
bigger than Pinnacle? Olympic? Grande? Willam Hill?
Better? Nah...:-)
Well, I hope it isn't Pinnacle (who reportedy paid off the crooks) (but is an excellent book) :-)
which book do you work for?

Don't they run out of things to discuss fairly quickly?

Hey Alicia Silverstone is still looking pretty good there. Like a hot stoner-chick.
strange because its an infinitely more exciting sport to watch. I'll give you Soccer for actual playing value though...

Good Job.. a much more apprpropriate use of that troll.
I think he had the troll pre-prepared and shot his load early on it. I mean, it wasn't even relevant to the parent topic.
He just wrote it and wanted to use it so bad he couldn't find a situation where it may have been mildly funny/scathing.

What would you like to see in next years' games?
flight simulator 2004 does this, its pretty cool.

Why is it that the women are so disturbingly hot yet the porn is so disturbingly bad?
