I went w/my girlfriend to drop off some of her film at walmart, and was looking around; they sell a 640x480 digital camera that accepts compact flash cards, and has a USB cable, and then doubles as a web camera (but looks like a regular camera) for $38. Oh yeah It has a thing on the bottom to mount it to a tripod. Granted, there's no zoom, but you're looking at at least $50 for a film camera with a moving lens of any sort. Considering that my digital camera does double the resolution w/2x optical zoom, but without the webcam feature was bought 4 years ago for $200 on sale at Staples, $50 for 1/2 of the features 4 years later isn't too shabby.

I crop down and then compress 98% of my photos to less than 640x480 anyways. Uncompressed, it makes excellent printed 4x6" color photos, and decent B&W 8x10s. 3000 photos and 4 years later, I'm still not looking at buying a new digital camera; they last forever.

Then again GTA3 really broke new ground in the series. GTA 1 & 2 were essentially top-down, essentially 2-D shooters that you could drive around in cars. I played GTA2, and it was great, tons of fun. My friend showed me GTA3, and my jaw litterally dropped when I watched him picking off grannies from two blocks away with a sniper rifle, and taking on the SWAT team from a 3D over the shoulder view.

As to Vice City, You might have a point there, since all it is is GTA3 with a little bit of spit 'n polish & a Miami 80's story line, a page taken straight out of the Tomb Raider series.

I think singapore is similarly protecting their young by killing drug dealers on the spot (although they're not officially announcing this due to human rights violations of punishment w/o trial), which has dropped drug sales by a significant amount in their country. While horrific, the government's stance on this means less drugs, which mean less kids doing 'hard drugs', and more kids have a chance at a good future. The United States government is ball-less in this respect.
