So, you call requiring every adult in the country to report all of their financial information every year to the government so that said government can tell each person how much money said government is going to forcibly take from each person NOT an invasion of privacy?
I don't. I call it a reasonable approach toward getting everyone who uses the common infrastructure to actually pay something approaching their fair share of society's costs. Maybe it's not the best approach, but it sure beats any proposals I've seen from the libertarians. Wait, have there even BEEN any? I'm not including the puerile rantings of Ayn Rand and her disciples.
Games like "Wii Ski & Snowboard" are way better with the balance board than a Wii-mote, but the current Wii only allows one balance board to connect at a time. This makes such games effectively single-player, which isn't what people buy Wiis for. Unless the Wii 2 abandons the balance board concept altogether for a camera approach like the Kinect, I'd like to be able to use at least two BBs simultaneously.
But I suppose I'm not a "real" gamer anyway; the only other game console I've owned besides my Wii (purchased 2.5 years ago and still getting a lot of use) is a Super NES.
A library is required to turn over any patron's borrowing history, with no reason given as to why the person is being investigated, and is barred from telling anyone the request was even made.
This is why my local library only retains borrowing history if the patron specifically requests it.
$20 per month for the Kindle edition? How much is the dead-tree version? The Columbus [Ohio] Dispatch, aka the Columbus Disgrace, is almost $30 per month -- about $28 more than it's worth, IMO.
I learned useful information from that book -- namely, that if threatened with death by radiation poisoning, you should get drunk and stay drunk. Something about alcohol slowing the effects of radiation, or something (I read it 40 years ago, gimme a break).

I heard on the news of someone who drove into a body of water (not sure if it was a river the lake or the sea) because their GPS didn't indicate it was a ferry link rather than a road. Don't remember whether they died or not but it shows how stupid people can be.
Interesting. I have an E6500 and don't really have any complaints about it. I suppose it could be because I absolutely loathed the D820 it replaced, and the D610 that the D820 replaced was even worse. Low expectations prevent dissatisfaction.
Now that you mention it though, I did notice that the video was noticeably brighter on an external display. There's also a weird 'tearing' effect whenever I try to watch a video with lots of motion in it. Unfortunately, it's a work PC; I can't very well take it back to the depot and tell them "this laptop is shit because I can't watch movies on it."
No worries; I wasn't really looking for help. As luck would have it, when I switched video drivers from [some nVidia driver] to [some other nVidia driver] the problem was solved.
After some searching, I found out how to switch my system from OpenJDK to Sun's JRE. java -version now shows "Java SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_22-b04)." Alas, I still get "Could not init GLX."
Pardon my ignorance, but I assumed that that's what "Sun Microsystems Inc." indicates. At any rate, it worked perfectly for the past six weeks with Minecraft Alpha.

The term "attitude" is a dead giveaway that you're anthropomorphizing your cats' behavior. You choose to interpret their behavior as having an 'attitude', whereas another observer might simply conclude that the cat is not smart enough to understand what you want it to do.
Let's face it, this question is never going to be answered because it's a stupid question. Intelligence means different things in different organisms and different situations. Asking if one species is smarter than another is like asking whether hearing is a better sense than smell.
I've had my Wii for 2.5 years now and I still use it the way it was intended -- standing up and flailing my arms like a madman. I know it's *possible* to 'game the game' by moving only your wrist, but it seems... lame.
I find if I grab my dog at the shoulders and hold him still right as he's beginning his shake, I can stop it in much the same way you can stifle a sneeze. Not exactly a Stupid Pet Trick(TM) , but it comes in handy sometimes.
Why would someone do that?
It's on a site with a "poor reputation".

but certainly not the coolest. Sorry, couldn't resist.
And I thought my alma mater, Broward Community College, was closing its doors.

Wasn't that an episode of The [American]Office?

I'm confused. Which method of play makes me a "toolbox'?

My question was never "how does a dog shake so as to dry his fur?" but rather "WHY must my dog walk up next to me immediately before doing so?"
