Now all we need to do is get a computer to emulate the graphics card, hook it up to an open slot in another computer, and write a linux driver for it. Then we, too, can experience the joy of playing Quake 3 through Wine at a resolution of 200 X 180 at 10 FPS.

They are a regional monopoly. I don't see Verizon selling anything here but wireless services. The land line phone service is all Qwest, nobody but Qwest. Although I personaly think Qwest hasn't a clue what it's doing anymore. I did a stint for Qwest as an outsourced cutomer service thingie, and from just the stuff they had my group do, it was apparent that they had no direction at best. If I remember correctly they had bought out a ton of other companies. I would go so far as to say that they don't know what to do besides buy other companies. I have a longer rant about corporate takeovers, but that's for later.

Drug-Dealer1: Hey! Why don't we sell pirated CDs?

What, the profit margins on cocaine fall through the floor suddenly? Oh the absurdity of it all. On that list (drug dealing, arms trading, money laundering and terrorism) the only thing that needs to be funded is the terrorism. And according to the government propoganda, they use drug money (like the CIA does) not pirate money.

If you read the Green Lantern Bible that Niven wrote, then you come to realize that all humaniod creatures in the universe are descended from the Oans. The Oans are, of course, the gaurdians of the universe and founded the Green Lantern core. The Oans' guard power is a super powerful psycic power.

What does this have to do with Superman? Well, since all humaoid life is descended from Oans, then all humanoid life has latent guard power. All of Superman's abilities are psycic in nature. He has heat vision, a primitive form of the kind of thing that was going on in firestarter. He can fly. Many spiritual disiplines say that with practice a person can fly. He can see through things. This is more of a clairavoyance than actuall xray vision. Also Superman is vulnerable to magic.
