I'm afraid to listen to my GBA for what it would have to say to me. I listened to my Rice Kripies once and I distincly heard them say "Snap, Crackle, Fuck you!"
No, you could have posted anonymously instead of posting that trash disclaimer that nobody gives a shit about. ...just as nobody gives a shit about your troll.
Lots of people drink whiskey. It could be any product, I'm just using whiskey as an example because that's what I was drinking as I thought of this (which probably shows how clear my line of thinking was). If the proccess for making whiskey were invented in the US in our day and age, say by Seagrams or something... could that process be pattented? Or, if nothing else, could the name 'whiskey' be trademarked so anyone else that attempted to market it would have to give it another name?
If I had to take a Guess, having no real evidence, maybe it's that Apple wants the Linux crowd to come over to OSX. Well, of course they do, but I'm saying this could be a business tatic more than anything else.
I complained that I had no hat, til i met a man who had no head.
I'm curious about how cable is not a "viable" option. Does your cable service charge a $600 equipment fee? (last I checked, that's where StarBand is at). Is it not a viable option, or just not an option?
I want an iPod (who doesn't?). The big thing holding me back (besides the $400+) is that it only does mp3. If it were firmware upgradable perhaps, or if Apple were to succumb to the greag Ogg, that would change things. This new devices seems to be the first step in a right direction for scalable audio encoding/playback.
I wonder what would happen if we tried to introduce a license for driving the ol' "Information Super Highway"?
I ofted asked myself this question. Now I'm fairly certain that HAM requires a license due to federal airwave regulation. I would complain that federal bandwidth regulation would help here, but that's a double-edged sword.
Most normal people don't understand how difficult or how beneficial the missions they would suggest would actually be. It's like asking the guy that bags your groceries for help with Differential Equations
If I were a "pro" in the audio field, I would consider it worth the time of the Dylan concert to have a higher fidelity DAT (or MD) copy of the concert vs. a fairly instantanious transfer. Especially with the Dylan example. It's hard enough to decipher his slurred lyrics in hi-fi vs. lossy compression!
Speaking of commercial audio players, that's one thing that will keep mp3's around for years to come. The format has had so much market penetration, it won't be easily replaced... plus with all these new-fangled hardware mp3 players (iPod), the infrastructure has kinda been set in stone, no?

So I was writing this Ellen Feiss parody, and then I check this slashdot thread and this guy was like..
...It was a really good parody.
F*CK F*CK F*CK, and my parody was pre-emptively shot down.

50% Offtopic I guess... but whatever.

Just a "what if"...
...I think the iPope has one.
...they'll replace the traditional Walmart smiley face with a smiley tux =)
WHAT, is your name?
Sir Gallihad of Camelot
WHAT, is your quest?
To seek the secret Mafia headquarters
WHAT, is the overall weight of the bridges galvanized steel wires?
I don't know that... nooooooooooo.....

Have you ever played a MMORPG so real, that you wondered if this game is reality or not?."
And right about then your shit would be fucked up.
Correct. I would have thought slahsdot would be more sensitive to the open-source "disc" vs. the trademark "frisbee". :)
Are you refering to the lack of respect Microsoft has for those who use their products?

Talk about flaming.
Oh, and the poorly photoshopped image on the site's 'pictures' section isn't very encouraging.

The reason that cassettes are still available is that people like to listen to music in their cars.
:)
Not cars. As lucifuge31337 said, any car CD player over $50 should handle bumps well.
...don't forget that car CD decks get jacked all the damn time. (It's happened to me twice so far.) Nobody takes cassette decks

Perhaps there are transmissions coming thru to DJ's via the red strobe LED on the good 'ole 1200's!
Scientists have discovered that internal combustion is cleaner and more efficient than anit-matter.
BSOD in (((stereo)))
