I was just thinking I bought a 6lb pack of 90/10 ground beef at Sams for less than $3.30 a pound, so I fail to see the value in these incredible savings.

Sams meat tends to be artificially lower than what you're really getting. I found that meat from Sams tends to shrink dramatically when you cook it because it is pumped full of water. Some of that $3.30 per pound your paying goes to nothing but water.

Even if it is, unless it is 1/3 water you are still getting it for cheaper than what whole foods is selling it for (at the discounted price even). Plus, since we already took that 6 lbs (and it was actually less, I rounded up) and spread it out into 12 portions and froze them, losing some of that weight makes the portions even smaller which helps with weight control. And there is no taste difference between that ground beef and ground beef in fresh packs from Kroger or Publix (the only taste difference I've ever noticed between the 3 is the prepackaged rolls of beef from Kroger that I used when I was in grad school and on a budget)

Having worked in a warehouse driving a forklift, sometimes that's simply not an option. Our facility only had racks for some freight that was terminating locally. Everything else (including terminating freight by large, regular customers) had floor holding/staging areas. All it took were a few large shipments , a delayed pickup, or an oversized item and a lot of these staging areas would be full. There were times when we had twice as much freight as could fit in the staging area. And freight is not always uniform in shape: a couple irregular pieces can make navigating through it a huge mess. Simply mapping an area once and using cameras to drive through wouldn't work, it would have to constantly remap the facility.

And as soon as there is a backlog and you have freight sitting on the ground or spilling over staging/holding areas and the premapprd layout goes to hell the automated forklift is useless.

Supply chain and workforce integration. By using standard sized bricks you can have a robot working alongside or supplementing human bricklayers without unnecessarily complicating purchasing and shipping of materials. Businesses further up the supply chain would also have to adjust their manufacturing process to make these larger bricks, further complicating their business and adding unnecessary costs. There is also the aesthetic component: people like the look of standard sized bricks.

The critical difference between a "drone" and a "killer robot" is in who makes the decision to kill: a human operator, or a computer program. The keyword is in the quote in the description: "autonomous".

The difference between a peaceful robot and a war-robot is in which kinds of weapons you employ and what kind of programming you give it. Does it only break walls, or does it break down walls to find humans to kill? Does it have guns, that are only useful for killing?

And... the difference between a landmine/explosive rocket and autonomous robot is that the killer robot is active in how it searches for its targets.

Seriously, making the distinction is not that hard. Don't muddle it up!

How about an autonomous UAV that works as a CAP with an ROE that only allows it to engage targets when something it is assigned to protect comes under attack? It could be guarding an outpost, or be dispatched to watch over a group of civilians that are fleeing occupied territory that ground troops can't reach. It's only killing to save lives.
