Fast forward about a decade now. Ubuntu Linux (and it's sub-flavors) is gaining popularity, Android is devistating Microsoft's offering in the handheld OS market, FOSS software is gaining deeply established traction in many developing countries and making inroads in countries that were previously deeply in Microsoft's pockets, and the FUD campaign that GPL==Communism has failed miserably.
They were just ahead of their time. Today the Rush Limbaughs and Glenn Becks of the world call anything they don't like communist/socialist and people just accept it without question.
Check again buddy. The base price on a Dell (m|R)910 server is about $28K. Fully maxed out these can approach 6 figures. Now consider a chassis pupulated with m910 blades...
The discriminating audiophile with unlimited funds insist on fibre channel adapters with optical connections. Perhaps EMC should get into the audio market.
I hit 170mph on the way to work this morning.
Of course, if charged with speeding I will point out that (1) I am lying, (2)my Hyundai isn't capable of anywhere near that speed, and (3) the traffic on most of my commute made travel above 30 MPH pretty much impossible.
Has there been any significant reduction in children dropping anvils on each other since they censored all the violence out of the classic Bugs Bunny cartoons?
Exploitable bugs should be reported so they can be fixed, not used to develop your own products - however popular the products might be in some circles. That might well be an unpopular view in this forum, but there it is.
Back in the days when Windows 3.x and 95 roamed the Earth that was the most common way to compete with Microsoft and their undocumented APIs.
Must have been the guy from one vendor I had to deal with once from a department who bought a server without going through IT. When I pointed out that the server has only one disk drive installed and we would be unable to recover it should the drive fail his response was "We have a 4-hour replacement contract with HP, if the drive fails you'll get a replacement in a few hours." He didn't have an answer when I asked him if the replacement drive would have the OS and applications installed and pre-configured for us, and if so how did HP manage to get a copy of our server build.
When the Hope Diamond was moved from from South Africa to England they made a big deal about it, sending a whole fleet of Royal Navy ships to protect it.
Only the diamond wasn't on any of the ships. It was sent parcel post through standard shipping channels. The fleet was just a diversion.
This guy may be one of the ships protecting the DNSSec key...
And perhaps R. Lee could repeat his therapist role from the Geico commercials with him. I'd pay to see that!

It would be, you hopefully realise, fucking stupid to either stuff the money under the mattress or give it all away immediately.
I don't know... My "Serta Fund" has been outperforming most of my other investments lately...

Since he's an example of a real-life supervillan.
I'm going to sell Barack Obama's Senate seat to the highest bidder! Buahahaha!

Vote for Blinky!
Very ironic, considering that TFA was about how bumper sticker phrases spread so much BS.
The worst were a couple that were popular a couple of years ago:
Obama/Biden 08
And
McCain/Palin 08
It's probably the dihydrogen monoxide in the water suply.
Simple: Hit on women with iPhones. According to this study you are statistically more likely to get lucky.
I'd like to be able to get a 7up without being profiled by a machine, thank you very much.
You look tired, Perhaps a Mtn. Dew would be a better choice of beverage?

It's called "Intellectual Property" because you only think you own it.

Except at the executive level where it's actually needed.

There was supposed to be an Earth-shattering Ka-Boom.

Ok class, Sycraft-fu has recommended we change our reading list so this semester instead of Hemingway we will be reading the "Twilight" books.
Personal user: I want a camera, chat, MP3 player, Twitter, facebook, etc.
Business user: The corporate security and audit teams says all of that stuff has to be turned off.
I used to work at a company that required that even the phone feature be disabled on all blackberries connected to the corporate Exchange servers...

Please tell me Nicolas Cage hasn't been studying a page full of seemingly random numbers that list the details of major disasters...
Are there more reports of headaches from watching "Step It Up 3D" than "Avatar"?
Compare with headaches from the 2D versions...
Blue Oyster Cult is already working on the theme song.
Nice of them to provide names.
