Really? I hate to sound like a shill but I have used Comcast when I lived in Ann Arbor and again in Northville (2 yrs ago) and the bandwidth was always plenty.

I'm using Bright House now because my current city has signed a contract with them (HTF is this legal?) and I like them less then Comcast. These days I think BrightHouse must be packet shaping torrent traffic because torrents with 200+ seeds don't saturate my pipe like they used to.

You want to know what's wrong with the educational systems in India and China? Nothing except the fact that neither country has the infrastructure to college educate a half a billion people each (guessing the literacy rate).

Every decent college in India (and probably China) gets over two hundred applications for every spot they have available (this is because almost 50% of the seats have to be reserved for "backward classes" - the India version of affirmative action). The good schools like the IITs get a few thousand applying for each available spot. This means that there are hundreds of thousands of students who are smart enough to go to college, there just aren't enough colleges to take them all it.

The situation is the reverse in America. There are hundreds of good colleges but only 8.9% (latest US census data) of Americans go for a MS or higher degree! That means there are a lot of grad school spots open and the foreign students go for them!

The smoothest flowing traffic is the safest traffic. When a-holes are driving in the left lane below the speed limit, they create an artificial bottleneck restricting traffic flow.

All us regular drivers are asking is that you move over when someone wants to pass you, and not be a tool and try to hold traffic back just cause someone had the balls to get you to move over. No one is asking you to speed up, you can granny drive in the right lane just as well as you can in the left lane.

I agree with the point you make but with all due respect (to all apple fanboys) I don't think the iPod has quite reached the ubiquity of Walkman, Kleenex or Xerox.

THe simple reason is that they are too frigging expensive. I was in the market for a mp3 payer and I ended up buying a 20 gig Creative Xen for less than 200 bucks as opposed to 300 bucks for an iPod.
If design and coolness factor were deciding factors (rather than ubiquity) we would stop saying my car and say something like my BMW (insert your personal Jap/German maker here).

I work as a CAD developer and you won't belive how much Quadro cards can outperform regular Geforce cards (don't get me strarted about ATI and thier crappy drivers for the FireGLs).

The single biggest limitation of the GEForce cards is they are optimized for 1 window. A Quadro card OTH can have open multiple windows in a 3D cad program . (e.g. Geforce 4's choke after having 3-4 moderatly complex parts open and a good Quadro 4 can handel 12-15 windows no sweat). AutoCAD is pretty light on the GFX card so a older quadro might suffice but something like Inventor or Solidworks or Catia can really benefit from these cards. If one of your engineers sees a 20% speed up in generating drawings of a complex assembly, or a 10% speed up rotating a gear assemlby, 3K is money very very well spent.
