Isn't red title bars with a "see any problems" link what subscribers see on new stories? Must be a cock up of somesort if normal readers are seeing that...
So.. if you're dialing up the net on your modem, you potentially doing IP over PPP over Voice over IP ? I guess then you could load up a VoIP app and make a voice call too:)
OK, so you wouldn't be dialing long distance in the first place, but still, it's a lot of protocols.
Although it is fairly inaccurate that there are only 1000 speakers (and yes I know it's satire thank you) it's really sad to say that truely affluent speakers of that toungue are becoming quite scarce, my generation is almost 100% non navajo speaking, sure they know a little to some, but they are not affluent speakers of the language..
I'm just wondering how big one of these things would be when compared with something like a pacemaker? Us humans must have a bit of spare room in there somewhere!
Of course, charging it may be a bit of an issue, unless you slept on an electric mat thing and it used induction!
Would be kind of cool to have storage that you couldn't ever leave behind or lose.
4.5 Feature Pack 1 is rather swish. Saves you having to patch up to MP3, and has even more bugs worked out. Works like a dream and finally supports fiber-attached drives on linux properly.
So as part of testing a new patch for a rollout, you step forward a day at time and make sure it all still works for every, what, 365 days? 1000 days? Sounds like a nice way to waste a week.
I guess he figures he can get plenty of support on slashdot. Maybe a sort of revenge of the nerds type thing???
I doubt he's even heard of slashdot - I saw this article on the BBC and submitted it even though I have nothing to do with it. Hell, I've never even played EQ and am not likely to!
I think multiplayer Duke / Quake / whatever is much more fun.
Just because the network connection arrives through the power lines doesn't mean it will enter your PC through the power supply! There's bound to be some sort of decoding/demuxing box at the power entry point in your house, and you'd plug the network connection into that.
If you're at home, sure - if you're roaming on GPRS, well, you'd probably end up spending 100x more on the GPRS chargers, unless there are unlimited GPRS plans around... *drool* (there aren't in the UK)
I was under the impression that BT is encrypted all the time anyway - it's built into the protocol.
Warning: Fremch !! Beware!!
Reminds me of the RH8.0 install, was doing one today and noticed a package that was apparently to support "Brisish English"...
Why bother memorising a number when there's no need?
... that this group didn't exist before. Surely a company the size of MSFT would already have a team or group just doing code auditing?
Oh well. as they said - it's a step in the right direction.

This woman will devour us all! Aieeee!
Does an HIV sufferer need to learn how to set up antialiased fonts in X?
Well why the hell not? What would you rather they do, sit in the corner and die quietly?
I _really_ wish someone would explain to me how those things work!
Depends how you enumerate your monkeys. Personally, I go by the kilo. I have 760 kilos of monkeys at last count. Monkeys!
Or an infinite number of monkeys for a millionth of a second?

What does it matter if they are well off or not?
At night it would turn into little moons and stars.
In the morning it would reflect what the weather is like.
Hmmm... that already happens in my room! OH! My mistake, I left the curtains open.

In Corporate USA, you're a twerp!
I would have thought Eric Raymond's slashdot ID would have been lower than this!
... Moe the bartender (simpsons) would make a MUCH scarier gargoyle!

Do trinitrons still have the two lines across the screen? I could NEVER have for this reason - I want the display to be as perfect as it can be...
I hope you're joking :)
