And the bot is a hit. He actually talks to the cops that come in from time to time, and they love it. Rufus has to deal with these homeless wastes of space coming in, harassing the customers, and trying to steal shit all the time.
He actually owns most of the entire block, and everyone supports him. That poor shitty homeless shelter down the street sure fucks things up all around the entire area.
He has actually ran for Gov. I believe, and came in last every time, but hell.... I think cities need crazy old guys like this.
Before you bother white knighting for the 'poor homeless chaps' down the road, you should hang out for a couple of hours, and watch them smoke crack, huff paint, and harass poor passer-by.
Totally perl based, and rather thourough. I use it on a medium end coloc machine, and it runs wonderfully. Here is the primary mirror site dealie. It has pop3 support, webdisk support, and a calander w/ reminder/notification support.
Been using it since it was Neomail, and I haven't had a single problem.
You are afraid that the hacker will notice if you submit the information via a compromised httpd, but find no problems at all about your story making the front page of Slashdot? You'd be shocked to know how many times that I've been hacked and found most of my information on the hacker from their posts on/.
regardless of the collapse, I'd recommend most anything from John Coltrane, and seriously recommend anothing by Liquid Soul. Its that kinda jazzy grooby jazz that make syou wanna get naked and find pictures of famous movie starts to Photoshop yourself into.
Its serioulsy *that* good.
They have a cover called "salt Peanuts" that may sound familiar to some of you old skool jazz ppls, but their take on it might open up a new avenus of swet sounds to all you "youngsters";)
I have the mp3s available, but only to those that ask. I don't need an RIAA enema today =]
I am also a big sci-fi buff, end up reading about one book/week. My personal favorite is Nancy Kress, she has a serious on geneticlly altered children and how they cope. VERY good stuff. Also if you like sci-fi w/ a good sense of humor, try Steven Brust. He has a "Taltos" series thats kinda fantasy, but still damn good. Brust also has some more hard core sci-fi titles, but i'll let you find those on your own;)
Robert Asprin is pretty good, but again, hes more of a fantasy tilt. The best place to find new good sci-fi IMHO would be the Issac Asimovs monthly magazine. They have short stories, novellas, and novellettes. Thats where i've found most of the outstanding authors i've come across. Happy hunting!
What about ftp? They can't outlaw ftp across the board. Thats how most ppl i know get DivX and svcd anyways. p2p is for people w/o a good non-leech login;)
dot tk is fairly cool. Not only super cheap @ $10USD/year, but they also have that whole jeweled isle feel to it. Slap a rather decent webdeisgtn on it and check out the online interface dealie, and you don't have that bad of a package for your buck. I've had my domain with them and even registered a fre of the free pointer domains. All in all a good setup.
*near* perfect. Thats the whole issue really. Sure i had a copy of the new Eminem, and yes, i've allready bought the new one. Theres just something about having the actual pressed disk with all of the liner notes and etc that make buying it worthwhile. The main reason that i think people pirate cds so much is because honestly, $15 for 80 mins of music is insane. I remember buying cassette tapes for $5 BRAND SPANKING NEW at the Turtles down the road.
They increase the price of new music in order to make up for supposed piracy, which in turn makes people more likely to pirate. Its a catch22 of the WORSE kind.
Aside from it looking a bit like CDE of pre-gnome Solaris fame, its actually a nice little wm. Totally configurable, fast as hell, small footprint, everything you could want or need. Even has its own desktop background and sound apps. I actually use this on one of my high-end Dell machines @ work, and haven't had a single problem with it.
You can usually get around this by going into the Winamp "Options" by clicking in the top left, and going to Play: then "Audio CD $CDROM" where $CDROM is the correct drive letter. This lets me play 99% of the Enhanced cds i have.
I'll bring up soemthing that i haven't seen yet about this story. Most of the guru/quirky type people we have at my shop are usually the potheaded hippy types. If i walked down to our NOC and asked around, i could probably find almost any drug i wanted for purchase. I didn't really notice this untill i had been to a few sysadmin nests/NOCs. Something about how insane you are is directly proportional to your skill, which is directly proportional to the amount of pot you smoke. Hey, gotta love it!
Am i the only one who spent the first 30 secs reading that as "Tom looks at the new Pill" ? Mebbe i've watched the Matrix too many times. I dunno. It made me laugh.
For once, i think i see some good in the usless army of script kiddies that are around. Just convince them that by posting this so called "copywrighted bullshit" to all their neat little hacked pages. Wouldn't that be fun? I've read off and on about these freaks and it amazes me how much pull and power they have. I mean THEY CONVINCED JOHN TRAVOLTA TO DO A BAD MOV.. er.. wait.. nm. he does that all the time. bah. oh well, screw scientologists, and screw their wacky little machines, and ESPECIALLY screw their bullshit church dogma.

thats just a colo company here in atlanta. cyberwurx. shitty colo w/ bad routes.
Hello 30 seconds on google:

because there is a huge difference between downloading 700m vs. downloading 4.2gb
I think my brain just exploded.
You referred to football and D&D in the same sentence.
I for one, will enjoy margeritas in hell.

Hey, I did say I was an asshole, didn't I?
Hi, I'm just some asshole, and I'd like this to get modded up to a +5 just to continue this amazing trend.

Bullshit. If i was a Sun tech and i got called out to a site with these mad muvvas, i'd nut in my pants and then fall overmyself talking to the guy.

D'oh. I stand corrected. :/
You are correct about the episode.
man.. there goes all of my self induced simpsons-leetness...
Did no one else catch the Simpsons reference?
The important thing is, I tied an onion to my belt, which was the style at the time
It was said by GrandPa simpson where he was yammering on and on and did nothing but segue...
From the story about how hitler had stolen the number 20 and they had to use the word dickety.
I throughly enjoyed the interview, and Wil Wheaton on ST:TNG. Reading his website and this interview just goes to prove how cool of a guy he is.
My god Wil. Just think, you just aquired yourself an army of geeks to do your bidding!!
