I just bought a Honda Civic Hybrid, and yes I'm getting the 40-odd MPG. It does so by basicly recycling the enegry expelled. Rather than lose energy in normal cruising conditions and breaking, it stores it in the battery for future use. You use the energy from the battery to power the engine, and you recover a bit of that back.
I know that it still uses gas as its primary source, and that due to thermodynamics I'm never going to be able to recycle all the energy, but the system, I think, is a step to making cars more efficent.
Now, if only Detroit would make such a car, but that's another topic...
I remember playing the thief games, and both the background mood music and the voices of the npcs are what drew me in. I know I would cringe whenever I made the heavy footsteps on marble, or the groaning of a zombie SOMEWHERE around me, but I couldn't see them.
I think it was one of the first games where sound was so important. If you were quiet, you wouldn't get noticed. You could map guard patterns by sound, distract them with noisemaker arrows, etc...
I forget the name of the stage, but I think it was Return to Cathedrial, or something to that effect...people who've played the game know what I'm talking about. I would seriously not want to stop playing because if I looked around, I expected a hoard of nasties to be behind me irl. So many hours of college life put into that game.
...and I'd love to put it to some use. I'd pay and download this, even if it's something I don't fully like. I figure supporting this distobution would be the best way to show the industry that it would actually work....too bad I'm in the States. There other legal distobutions centers for indie movies out there online?
This link also gives the local Erie paper website. Here in Erie, PA, we're really not talking much about it, we're more shocked over all the attention it's getting.
Pros for this theory assuming judeo-chrisatian god: -black holes ARE, after all, divide by zeros. -coding an entire world in 6 days sure beats that 30 hour code marathon you claim record to -human appendix is just an easter egg -jesus was just god logging on the the everquest that is our world. Heck, he even respawned.
If you can get to Frank Lloyd Wright's Falling Water outside of Pittsburgh, PA, it is most definatly worth the trip. It's thought to be Wright's trademark creation, and though perhaps not totally geeky in a computer way, there is something about being there that I'd highly recommand to anyone who can be there. It will highly contrast to the majority of American architecture, that's for sure.
This link gives you the 5bx workout plan used by the RCAF (Royal Canadian Air Force) or something like that. I found this link on the last slashdot story about fitness a few months ago. It's easy to follow, only 11 minutes, and you can do it right before going to work, after getting home, when ever.
I've only been constant on it a few weeks, I haven't lost too much weight, but I've been feeling a lot better physically.
Oh, and get a Nalgine bottle, fill it with water, and carry it around where ever you go. I know people who have one for work and one for home, but that's over kill.
Little binary gnomes who live inside my CD-ROM (Cousin to the fridge Lightbulb gnome) who look at the grooves on a CD and turn a switch up for a 1 or down for a 0.

Then the whole process starts over again. The war on spam is not gonna be over in one single swoop...no matter how good the software.
"The Cape" http://www.cohchat.com/ on Virtue server did the same. It was shut down for a month or two, but is starting back up this weekend.
Or at the very least, the secret to saving all the snakes in Springfield on Whacking Day.
"O Whacking Day O Whacking Day
Our scared snake-skull cracking day..."
It's interesting that 75% of your accounts AREN'T valid...
Let's not forget FFVII's Wall Market scene, a whole mini quest is devoted to your male character finding a dress, wig, etc, to dress up as.
Softhome is what I use. Web based and pop, free with tiered payment upgrades.

*gasp* Are people actually...reading the article?
And what about those like myself who can do all three at once...I wonder how that skewed the values, if at all.
