But what about a constitutional amendment to protect our data rights as citizens? I mean, hurray that they're doing something, but I would figure at this day and age that privacy through protection of data would be big enough to warrant something like that..... Not like any politician would ever consider it, though.
Once upon a time we called all first-person games "Doom clones" because we'd all played Doom but nobody knew what the fuck "first-person" meant.
Well this is also because back in those days, most (if not all FPS'es) had about the same artstyle and/or engine. IIRC there were really only two major ones and those were the BUILD engine (Duke Nukem 3D) and the RayCaster Engine (Doom 1&2). Since they both roughly looked the same and the only real difference is how they calculate certain types of geometry, this really doesn't surprise me. Granted, I was pretty young when these games came out, so I dont really remember anyone calling them that.
Not necessarily. When you lose your ears you lose your equilibrium as well. Not to mention the sheer amount of blood loss would definitely put you into shock.
It's too tedious. I know when I was growing up the only things I would even want to read were programming books and tutorials. However, that was only because I was getting something else out of it than just 'a good read'. Books just always seemed to be a tool more than entertainment.
I honestly think, that after all the crap that the RIAA has pulled, that they would at least get charged like they did to everyone else. But instead, they just get a little slap on the wrist and call it a day. WTF has happened to our legal system when you can basically get away with this. Isnt this horribly illegal and wrong? Why wont anyone actually stand up and DO something?
Oh wait, that's right, you cant. Derp, I forgot.
So then how do you define something that apparently doesnt exist? DNA didnt exist until someone found a way to show it. Is it no different here?
Were bacteria not treated the same way? The fact that you're saying there's no way to prove exists means that it doesn't seems to me to be the exact equivalent of how the dark ages were.
"Oh you think something other than demons caused your illness?! KILL THE UNBELIEVER!"... I believe that is how it goes.
Not until 'advanced computer usage' doesnt constitute learning how to type and making excel documents. Once educators realize that's just basic necessary skills then MAYBE we might see some progress.
This is great for the big business side of things, but how soon will we see this on the consumer level? I mean, we keep seeing all these really high spec systems being used for the governments and large operations, but nothing for the little guys? TFA gives no hints.
Well it's about time. I was wondering if the ??AA was just going to keep walking all over people or if some judge would actually take a stand AGAINST them for once.
The thing about this from my perspective is that that would mean someone could possibly park next to your vehicle and use it to make calls off of your car, perhaps not even on purpose. So many security and privacy issues behind that I don't even want to begin to think about it. I mean, hell, you're just making it easier to hijack the signal at that point.
I'm still waiting for the day where these phones will actually have software that someone would want to use. I've yet to see a touchscreen phone with a UI that is as responsive as physical keys.

It's only a matter of time now before we start having satellites equipped with this sorta stuff.... AND YOU KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS!
Bloody peasant!!

Will all hell break loose when this happens? Will it be Y2K all over again, except this time it's something legitimate?

Oh god it's gonna turn into another AACS key.... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AACS_encryption_key_controversy
It will be hard for anything else to beat this for the dumbest thing I've seen on the internet today.
Too bad it's only the dumbest thing you'll see today. I'm sure some moron out there is just gonna set the bar lower tomorrow.

Deep deep down, we're really nothing more than just super-smart monkeys with bad attitudes.

Does anyone ever stop to think setting off nukes in the middle of the earth just MIGHT blow us up in tho itty bitty pieces?

it does now. Go see for yourself.
DooM was only released 3 years after Commander Keen. I'm honestly a bit surprised that DooM didnt get an article celebrating its awesomeness...
Dont forget the FABULOUS airport!
It's the lost city of... ATLANTA!

I know about that, but it was just a bluff on Spock's part. How Vulcans keep getting away with their reputation for honesty, I can't imagine.
Spock gets away with his antics because he's half-human. So by default, he breaks the rules to begin with. This is referenced in many many places.
Next thing you know they're going to start buying franchises and turning them all into FarmVille clones.
Uh oh, I guess I shouldn't have hit refresh 50 times!
