  1. its the Newton reborn! on Apple PDA? · · Score: 1

Seems like Steve must've found a bunch of Newtons in old inventory that he souped up with color displays. What we'll probably see is a cross between the handheld organizer and their iMusic device. in the end? a great organizer with 6GB of storage. tell me that hasn't been done yet. :)

As much as you'd like to think that maybe its only the technical experience you need for this job, maybe you've neglected other aspects of your position. With the current economic outlook, it would be relatively easy to replace you with someone who has twice as much experience in a heartbeat.
The real reasoning is most likely masked by the fact that we are only getting your side of this story. I imagine if we were to look into more detail from your employers position we would find many reasons to replace you with the right candidate. I'm not saying we should let ageism take over, but I honestly can't see how this plays in this situation.
Honestly, if you were working for me, and couldn't take the time to spell-check your emails/posts/reports/etc. then how am I to believe that your work is completely thorough? Just from reading your post, I get the impression that you are probably competent in technology, but your execution is not completely solid.
I would recommend going back to university/college and getting your CS degree to create your own competitive advantage.

I do like the convenience of card-based money, but not enough to forfeit the anonymous nature of cold hard cash.

  10. you would've thought on MS Zone Users Must Use Passport Accounts · · Score: 0

That Microsoft would've been able to bridge the gap between their zone users and passport. Yahoo's been doing it for years, having one login to access all of their services. It just seems easier from the standpoint that you can access Microsoft's web properties using a common login. What concerns me is when this information starts being shared between alternative vendors... ie: eBay. I'd personally rather have an account setup for eBay with a different password than what I use for my hotmail email or play video games.

  13. a new era of consoles on The Battle Of The Consoles: From Atari To The Xbox · · Score: 0

Maybe we've finally reached a new level of console gaming, where no clear-cut winner will EVER emerge. It's no longer the console which defines the industry, but rather, the games available. The growing trend of having most games available on all platforms just further proves that a world with three consoles is still possible. The only deciding factor will come down to whether you prefer to play a game with a fat lazy plumber or a blue hedgehog or crash bandicoot. And even then, you're likely to find a similar style game with just different characters substituted for the platform of your choice.

    1) Free publicity. (I'm saving America from the Taliban).
    2) The 52-page license agreement the NSA was forced to sign which stipulates that Oracle will provide all custom development, installation, and configuration at an hourly rate of an employee's first born.
    3) You get this huge mondo database, but you have to share the information with me!!! THe Oracle-backdoor trojan virus which allows Larry to peruse the addresses of hot chicks to invite over to his private jet getaway.
