To me it looks like 6 of one and a half a dozen of the other. For all intents and purposes Russia is enacting precisely the same legislation as the USA. And that's hardly surprising. International "harmonization" of their legal codes is a key goal of the NWO... It needs to be so before they "blend" all the countries into their great monster country.. then there would be no point in trying to escape a tyrannical regime as there would be nowhere to go.

Movies, however, I totally enjoy at the correct speed. The exception is those 40s Bogey and Bacall films like the "Maltese Falcon" and "Casablanca", which they always broadcast sped (speeded?) up.. and for the longest time I always assumed they just talked that fast.. Until the remastered versions of these old classics came out. Colorized, even... Initially I rather liked these new (old) colorized and slowed down versions becauseI could finally understand what Peter Lorre was saying :-) and could make out the scenery even..Since then I've reverted to preferring the old B&W version as I like that old "film noir" effect - and it just don't feel right without the sped up "can I kill him now?" line ;-)

  16. I wouldn't be so quick to assign sociopolitical labels to which group favors eroding privacy rights. There are plenty of so-called conservatives (judges, legislators, etc.) who would happily erode 4th amendment and other rights. I am reminded of Ronald Reagan arguing in favor of the admissibility of illegally-obtained evidence, and more recently of provisions in the PATRIOT Act that are objectionable to civil libertarians like ACLU members.

It's worth noting that civil liberty groups like the ACLU are largely socially progressive. And they are generally the ones who say, "Get a goddamned warrant." They're also the ones who hold that the same rules are supposed to apply to everyone, regardless of socioeconomic status.

Agreed, of course.. naturally, you are correct .. but I have observed a flip flop in how people generally assign tendancies. 30 years ago it was always without a doubt the democrats that were credited with favoring privacy rights, and conservatives who were accused of wanton violation of same. It was just an inaccurate generaliszation then as now, but when did things change?

The 3.5mm is a miniaturized version of the 6.35mm audio jack which was originally introduced for telephone switchboards in 1878. It is the oldest existing electrical standard in use. Given its age and longevity, pretty much the entire audio industry has developed around this standard. Replacing it would require replacing every piece of electronic audio equipment produced over the last 140 years, from audio jacks in cars and airplanes to laptops, camcorders, as well as phones. It takes a lot of arrogance from Apple to think they can upend a widespread and ubiquitous standard that has withstood the test of time, and force every single audio equipment to use a connector to connect with an iphone.

The entire audio industry? Maybe the consumer end, but we've been using balanced 3 prong connectors in the pro music industry for just YEARS... Occasionally someone who hasn't suffered a cord accidentally pull out just once too often will still will use them, but most musicians have even converted their instruments to the balanced connectors. And phone plugs are ALWAYS breaking at the most inopportune times
