    Naww....you might catch something...

  2. Sure, I'll feed the trolls.. on Prostitutes Call for a Ban on GTA · · Score: 1

People like Jack are like the Sanhedrin of old jewish faith, and like the upper caste in Hindu/Indian cultures: they don't like to even get near what they consider "undesireables".

Him being on the same side as prostitutes in his mind is like when NAMBLA shows up at a gay rights/pride march: yes, technically, they are marching for your ideal, but what they stand for otherwise is REALLY going to hurt your case.

He's claimed to be doing God's work many a time. The irony that a class of people that he wouldn't be caught dead with are now trying to champion his case is going to put him in a tough spot.

    To quote skull: "GLEE!"

  3. How's Jack going to react? on Prostitutes Call for a Ban on GTA · · Score: 5, Funny

Disclaimer: I am a Christian. However, Jack Thompson is of the notorious southern-baptist style bible-thumping crowd. This places him on the same side as prostitutes. I can't WAIT for someone to point this out to him.

    We should have a slogan:

"Jack Thompson: Working with the street-walkers to keep your kids safe"
"No-body has their pulse on the average American cum-catcher like Jack"

  7. Should be an upper cap... on Digital Music Stock Market? · · Score: 1

I say there should be an upper cap as well. I mean, how many times will someone download an old Indigo Swing album (besides me). So, that would be lowered.

Then, you have the throngs of "OMGIHAVETOBEPOPULAR" nausiating teeny boppers who will gladly part with her 1.50 for the latest BritneySync album. Let 'em. They will allow me to re-buy the Beatles Catalogue for cheap.

Of course, the only way that there will be trust in this is if Apple would open up the statistics/usages. That way there wouldn't be an overmind decreeing:

"This song shalleth be $2.25 due to popularity."

    "They are all $2.25 now"

"Umm...yes-eth. Slum gullion is popular right now."

Topher Grace as Venom? He's so small/weak. The only thing that would be worse is if they cast his clone Tobey Mcquire as Spiderma....oh....wait.

Seriously, I can see Topher being absolutely evil in the role of Venom, with just enough humor to be scary.

I never understood what Sandman's story was...anyone care to enlighten me?

  17. Interesting... on London Tube Dangerous for Technophiles? · · Score: 1

Not being a flame-bait person here, but I think this is interesting. It's no secret that the posts here in /. seem to lean a little to the left.

England is usually held up as a model of a successful "socialist Republic", with free health care, extermely restrictive gun laws, etc.

This is an interesting slant on things. Just out of curiosity, what is the reaction to this unilateral restriction on the view of England as a model we should be striving to emulate?

  18. You ever wonder... on Annual Cost of Microsoft Monopoly: $10 Billion · · Score: 1, Insightful

Reading articles like this, I often wonder if Bill Gates has managed to delude himself into thinking he's doing good for the industry, of if he actually knows what an evil, vicious spawn he's created?

Also, if Bill Gates would dissapear tomorrow, would the balls necessary to defy the US Government, other larger organizations go as well? I often think that perhaps the rest of the company doesn't have the nerve to go toe to toe like their head does...

  24. Wow... on NASA Notices New, Nasty Solar Storm Type · · Score: 4, Funny

I heard that 5 people aboard the ISS got caught in it. One guy's skin got all orange and hard, but his muscles got MAJORLY enhanced. One guy got increased flexibility, tothe point that he could bend and extend his bones/muscles as much as he wanted. Another guy was affected so much he could start fires on the outside of his body. An unfortunate woman caught in this stream turned invisible. However, the worst one was a guy who suffered a severe personality loss. He was said to be just plain mean and nasty. And his nerves for some reason discharged electrical shocks many times their normal size.

Picture him in a wizards hat and cloak, making dire predictions, selling the cure-all for those ails in his cloak. Kinda suspicious...
