I have a few that need help.... A laptop with a wireless problem. A multimedia box with a video card problem.... A serveer that's at the end of it's redhat life.... A firewall that needs some review/attack/work/love... A game machine that needs a new driver..... Some guest box'es that need everything! uuummm i give up.. too much to fix... let them all die...except the game box... he he....
Oh! Did I mention the TV that keeps crapping out and the washer that needs a new clutch and the car that needs a new clutch and the drier that has a bad thermistat and the washer that's agitating instead of spinning and the 32inch TV with 18volts power rail instead of 12volts and the house wireing that has a bad ground (but not the servers on their own circuit) and the truck that has a bad carb... oh yeah did I mention the pile of old computers waiting for a job to keep them busy just like me....
Oh yeah... I have a job and a house but I'm still hungry... Please help....
This is an authentication problem not a filter or label problem. Your friends wants to send you mail and you know them so you use an preverified opt-in address for them. If any new persons need to send an email them they must goto a website and send it from a contact field with a non scriptable human readable only "key". Its used all the time already with web forms. After the first initial "contact" then you can respond or ignore that "person" (because a computer/spammer is not able/willing to use your web app); if you respond with an email address for them, all is now normal email tranactions.
As all auth. processes are a two tranfer process; this will make email work again. If you have to recieve any email from an unknown person them you have to deal with spam. That is the way it will always be. The trick here is to make the spammers job so slow/tedious/distasteful that the money made is not worth the effort.
It's up to the ISPs of the world to fix this problem; not the "law". I'm ready; who's gonna write the code?
BZFlag has a new "break the world" version. It has a few new flags and voting to kick cheaters and dirty mouths. I love the Flag stealing "laser!" Cool stuff...worth a download.
Just setup a syslog server and client that run normal and then setup a box with the wire cut that just watches for syslog packets and logs them.
Script punk goes for the box he can see and never knows about the other. The box hes sees would'nt even need much storage because it's just to answer the log packets.
He may be able to stop further logging but not get to the previous logs on the real logging server.
No doubt this will require some code written. But Me No Know. New project anyone?
Cut the return transmit wires on the ethernet cable so data only goes one way. No way around that. think you can root a system that's not talking back!;)
If someone has shown interest in having a site then; Yes, get them one AND show them how to use it. If they have'nt ever shown any interest; then they won't.
Just the idea of doing something like that (putting up a web site) is very scarry to most non-tech types (in the time set on there VCR?). If you show them and they pay attention then there's hope after all. You better be ready with some "content" to put on it or your wasting time. They are not going to have/know/get any content for it on from there computer. Buy a digital camera or scanner and then the site domain.
I bet these little things stay on a hook real good too. (as he wonders - fishermen on slashdot?) I bet they get sold faster as bait than pets. At $5 each that would be an expensive fishing trip thou.
I lost her Sept 16th. after 10years. It seams like yesterday. I wish she could answer her emails. I sent her a email after she passed. (It took a day for the sheriff department to find me and tell me.) Worst day of my life. Shi-.t don't know what to tell you all. I still can't get her emails from yahoo. (I'm no hacker.) I can't tell here friends on games.yahoo.com that she's gone. I know a few of them will miss her. She was a regular player on many games of yahoo. She was known as chuyrocks@yahoo.com--- if anyone knows her: I m shur she wishes all a good life. (as I cry)... Ask:/.== howto notify "cyber" world that your gone?:(without her passwds?) There is no "Obituary"(s). for yahoo or other cybrespace. I want all that know her too know; but it's hard to know who knew her. Can go crazy just thinking albout it.
Anyway sorry for the bummer post; but just what I'm thinking now.
Everybody is talking about these tags. Foo! It's not the tags that are scary; it's the fact that with them; they (gov) know what books your reading. Combined with other new laws you are now in the twilight zone! Speak out of turn, walk out of turn, read out of turn; what's next! THINK OUT OF TURN!

More info? I've heard about that but never been up there.. Where and When(first Sat)- hours?
Got a bunch of junk to sell...

SkyNet - the userless system. Self cleanning user base. No passwords needed. "cut out" he he.....

Been, There, Done, That.
Good luck...
I bet the 2.6 kernel will be released... oh wait..nevermind.
Just means you have to hack "hardware" rather than software/firmware. (digs for solder iron)
