    I've seen a precious few games do it right. Play
    all the intros (SIX OF THEM in the worst cases)
    only first time, including an opening cinematic,
    then every time after it goes straight to the menu.

    Having to skip each animation individually is also
    a crime I think should be punishable by severe
    flogging. Thank goodness for cracksites that actually
    make the games I *paid for* playable! Remove the
    silly copy protection that takes 20+ seconds to
    verify before the actual game starts loading, off
    with all intros, or turn them into 1-second stills
    and so on.

    I signed up for FWD just for kicks, after I found
    that KPhone also can work with their network.
    Then I switched to VoIPalk.org, and can call a
    POTS number as long as there's credit on my
    account. Shame it's in the UK, so Scandinavian
    phonecalls can get a bit expensive. Works great
    for me, though, until the local VoIP companies
    start supporting KPhone/X-Lite :)

    I'm a freak - I document my work. Userspace or dev
    docs both get more than just automatic HTML-
    ification; I take time to explain a little. I've
    found it very rewarding when I see a stub of a
    function, wondering exactly *why* I started on it,
    then look it up in the docs I wrote. My documentation
    is where I put my planning, too.

    Now, I just need to remember to change the docs
    when My Vision changes ;)

    I remember the original Tomb Raider on PSX.
    That was huge. I used to wonder how they crammed
    these gigantic levels into a Playstation's memory.

    Then they released a sequel with even larger boobs
    AND levels :)

    So not all console games need to be dinky.

    I will buy this IF there is a DVD edition sold
    near me. I bought Silent Hill 3 because they were
    wise enough to release it on DVD, too.

    Pretty much every computer sold here, including
    laptops, come with a DVD drive, so why haven't
    games already started being on DVD? It should have
    happened years ago!

    (And please use that extra space to include a
    higher quality version of any pre-rendered movies :)

    I hope you wrote this two years ago :)

    Just get any one of the neat P2P tools available
    now, and you can get everything. Anime, latest
    cinema releases, obscure animation and independent
    movies..at 330MB per hour, my movie collection
    grows. And I don't even need to be a "known player"
    to the ones who share.

    The rivalry nowadays seems mostly to be Swedes
    making fun of Norwegians (knowing Norway is slightly
    better ;). Why else would so many people move to
    Norway to set up shops?

    I agree with an earlier poster that the watch would have

    ION looked nice at first, but I found that I need to do
    side-by-side comparisons fairly often. If our screen
    were 4096x3072, we could use the window manager's
    functions to sort everything side-by-side..till then, I'll be
    using overlapping windows for my development work.

    I personally know someone who had a 1.2GHz T-bird
    that he started up just after buying it. Without a heatsink
    or fan. It melted in four seconds.

    Actually, the diffs *are* like CVS. Get every patch that
    has a higher number than the kernel you are using to
    get to the latest. Note that the Alan Cox series are NOT
    incremental. You only need the latest there.
