The latest proposal by the powers that be is that Firefox 1.0 be distrubuted under what they call an "end user license agreement" that disallows modification or distribution, and that restricts what you can use Firefox for--similar to the terms of Microsoft's software.
If you had actually read the bug this file is attached to you'd have noticed that this was a first proposal based on Netscape's old licence *AND* that it has already been shot down - so where's the big scandal?
(Along those same lines - I hate that suddenly just about every recent installer for GPLed software displays the GPL as an EULA when the GPL is only binding for those people that distribute the software and not neccessarily the end-user who just uses a pre-compiled binary. Why should those end-users have to provide sources et al as long as they don't distribute modified binaries? The GPL is no end-user license; it's usually in a file called COPYING.txt, not USAGE.txt...)

And here's what's left for the next CAVE version: force feedback! When someone shoots a rocket at you, you'll feel like you're blowing up.
Well, a charge attached to the ceiling should do it - if you die in the game, it detonates and buries you in all the exhibits from the upper floors plus the concrete to go along with them...
Problem solved.
(Of course, the AEC's rubble right next to the Danube might look a bit strange, but it'll hardly look stranger than the Lentos building on the other side...)
Sure, you want adamantium steel bones -- who doesn't? The physical near-invulnerability, the cool snik-snik of those claws -- but who can afford the complicated, dangerous and painful bone-replacement procedure?
That's why Evil On A Budget, Inc. presents the cheaper, easier, quicker alternative; Adamantium Steel Eyeballs. They're cheap, any qualified evil opthamologist can install them, and your new eyes will be completely invincible!*
Price: US$49.99 per pair
* You'll be totally, permanently blind. Of course. But it's a small price to pay for INVINCIBLE EYES!

Well, I tried that some time ago on our Xerox Phaser 1235, and it took about 7 minutes to print.
Then I tried it on our LaserJet 1200 a few weeks ago... I already had figured the printer had croaked on it, but it simply took a wee 3 1/2 hours, give or take a few minutes, to finish...:)

You know, the first thing I think about when hearing "knob box" would be this - it should be easily available from your favourite music gear store, has 16 rotary encoders and a universally used interface that'll work on Windows, MAC and Linux alike: MIDI.
Of course, getting programs other than music software to use MIDI input might be another matter, but it can't be harder than supporting proprietary input hardware... oh, and if it is anything like my Doepfer Pocket Control, it's sturdy as hell. Too bad this came out half a year after I bought that one...:( (Well - it's the same thing with MIDI gear as with graphics cards... there's always something better you lust after after having bought some equipment...:)

Maybe he finally got his ass in gear and is really making that Gunnm (aka Battle Angel Alita) movie he bought the rights to years ago - there's quite a few flashbacks to the main character's life on mars, especially in the sequel (or rather, the rewriting of the ending) called "Battle Angel Alita: Last Order" that's currently being released...

Well, it might not be completely original (there was "Stunts" from Broderbund in 1990), but when was the last time you saw a 3D racing game that featured an editor, a puzzle mode and was as addictive as Trackmania? At least I don't know a racing game that made me play the same track over and over again for an hour just to get a gold medal on it and which comes with 96 tracks in 3 scenarios (each with it's own car model) to begin with.
(And which, coincidentally, can only be bought in France, the UK and, uh, Denmark(?). Talk about bad distribution...:( )

Well, using Nero 5.5.10.54 with my Ricoh RW5240A (which writes +R/+RW with 4x) lets me set the book type without problems. And yes, the one video DVD I've burned with it using DVD-Shrink to make it fit on the disc played flawlessly in my rather old Pioneer DV 525.
Oh, and I got it for 99,90 EUR at a local electronics store. (Granted, that makes around 120 USD, but it still fits that "just below 100 $CURRENCY" marketing gimmick...:)

Strange - I could've sworn that that's exactly what was in the upgrade box I got 2 weeks ago...
If you still don't believe me: the online help was missing from the DVD, so you have to download it...

No, but you'll get a buzzword complaint from me for quoting all that...

I hope he knows what he's dealing with here... *eg*

Just fill up your playlist and shuffle it using "Misc/Sort list/Randomize list", then play that scrambled list straight through.
Problem solved.

No, actually today we're all hanging out on the IDM list and post about anything but IDM, but still attempting the same... *eg*
Maybe we'd need an IDM-L Rebooted too?

And quite a bit behind the TV series, which is quite a bit closer to his manga and coming to the US and the UK this summer (end of June, actually)...

Actually, suspending to disk isn't an ACPI-only feature; all it needs is kernel and (some) driver support.
