    Oracle comes to mind.
The only reason they still are getting money(from my perspective), are from old systems(up to 10 years old) not yet migrated to running something else. And then the odd case where someone, somewhere in the company, managed to buy a new product that required something from Oracle(a loose end we have now tied up so that every new project requiring something from Oracle, now has the true TCO from their bullshit license requirements when running virtualized serveres, and that's expensive.).
Their legal and license department, have scared everyone with a bit of brains away.

I am still using my iPhone 5 and I don't feel the need to replace it yet. I got the battery replaced so I am fine.
It still plays my podcasts, streams, read emails, GPS navigation, tracking by bike rides and the phone calls now and then.
When I upgraded from the iPhone 4 to 5, I felt like the $900(-$380 for selling the old 4) I paid for the new phone, wasn't really worth the upgrade at the time.
The size of the iPhone 6 and the camera bump didn't make me want to replace my current phone. :D

Now they say that the new SE has much better battery time so perhaps, hmm,, no.

If a vendor would dare to make their phone even 2mm thicker to provide excellent battery, THAT would be news worth covering. I know I would buy it. For example a iPhone 5 SE+, not with a larger screen but 1,7mm added (back to iPhone 4 depth) to provide more battery,

I don't know. I don't watch much TV or movies anymore. I can't find anything that interests me anymore. Perhaps a few documentaries. I used to like to watch TV. Not even Netflix works for me any more(well their recent geo blocking helped killing it too).

These days all I see is Youtube videos with people who has something interesting to say/show/explain.

  5. I have a few Philips dimmable LEDs that were crazy expensive. The _outside_ temperature goes to the limit of the capacitor(encased in some material) on the inside.
I suspect that on many LEDS, the operating temperatures will kill these capacitors. I have a few other LED's with SMD mounted capacitors(with much higher operational temperatures), they are built for 12v G4 replacements and I have a power supply for those that feeds them DC instead of AC. so it will be interesting to see how long they last, they have been on for 7 hours a day, 2 years now.

Also, I have 3* 10W G4 halogens that has been running also for 7 hours a day for at least 4 years now. I would have replaced them with LEDs but I am kinda interested in seeing how long they will last. :D

For some reason, I don't even watch much TV anymore, haven't had cable in years. My Netflix usage has also been less and less the last year so it is not a huge loss.

Although I was careful do buy the right one, I suspect that I got a fake or something because when I used it for charging 2 devices recently, it didn't seem to work right. But my phone battery also was on it's last leg so I have just got the battery replaced and might need to test it again with 2 devices. :)

But apparently, some of the car chargers that say they can output more watts, can't always do it and they don't always work with the way the phones communicate with the charger, so you have to look at which phone you have.

France sadly just seems to 5-10 ahead of other European countries when it comes to these types of problems, at least the last 20 years where I have followed the news. But most of the leaders in the other European countries doesn't have ant guts to anything about it. They run around like headless chickens.
I believe that is why we see the elections are becoming more and more polarized here, where the extreme parties to each side are gaining more votes. Voting within the big colorless grey middle have not improved anything.
