    Part of the reason the jail's phone system is so expensive is that they really do have to monitor and trace everyone's call. Letting a gang leader have an open phone line while locked up just means we're feeding and housing him while he keeps running his business.

    No, they're cheaper because they just plain ol' have less of the active ingredient.

    What he's talking about is cocaine - two forms, one powder, one freebased (crack). Generally, crack has less active ingredient (its made from powder cocaine)

    You get a 5-year minimum for trafficking cocaine when you have up to half a kilo. Five hundred grams.

    For crack? Five grams. Who uses cocaine? People with money. Crack? People with low SES.

    Find me a self-propagating Windows Mobile virus, please? Not some crap trojan horse I have to run in order to be infected. Seriously - my Windows Mobile 6.1 device is on constantly, connected to the HSPA network at all times and is routinely connected to Wi-Fi internet connections. It certainly doesn't run any antivirus. Infect me!

    Not too much. My Tilt (HTC TyTN II) out of the box supports pretty much any format Windows Media Player does out of the box (I can use a full-song MP3 as any sound on the phone, etc). It asks before installing unsigned software, but doesn't care. My net connection is proxied, but i can override it.

    I am, however, banned from the "AT&T Mall". I can't buy ringtones from AT&T BECAUSE my phone is so open - I could share them!

    Find me a Verizon phone that can share its internet connection as a Wi-Fi access point and I'll be impressed! =)

    Yeah, what about the great percentage of people who have a phone that does MMS but not email?

    Face it, not having MMS is a pretty big loss for the iPhone. MMS is a push message, email on a phone generally isn't. Plus, it doesn't require a data plan. In fact, most phones don't require a data plan.

    Where do you live?

    I'm in a firmly red county. Everyone here has a few values which they vote on:

    1. Them damn dems gonna take my guns!
    2. Them damn dems gonna take away my huntin' grounds!
    3. Them damn dems gonna give my money to them po' people!
    4. Them damn dems kill babies! They would have killed the baby Jesus!

    Good luck arguing with that. Number 2 and 3 are absolutely false, the conservatives are the ones who keep opening PA gameland to foresters, and well, many many rural people take assistance money (LIHEAP especially!)

    You're on the wrong website buddy.

    If your TV can pick up ATSC stations, you're good. If all it picks up is NTSC analog channels, then you're boned.

    Digital channels are numbered differently, each channel can have subchannels. IE, an analog channel is always just 2, 3, 4, etc. Digital ones are 2-1, 2-2, 2-3, 3-1, 3-2, 3-3, etc.

    I think the parent of your comment was making your point for you. That is, who gives a fuck about the toxic materials when its such a small amount and the alternative isn't for-sure cleaner.

    Why can't we have graduated licenses?

    I've heard some countries have to drive with a colored "L" on the car to indicate that they're learning. So why can't I go take a test every couple years and get myself an "E" which means I'm experienced enough to understand when exceeding the speed limit is "prudent and safe"?

    I just LOVE it when some bitchy soccer mom gets her whole neighborhood up in arms because people speed by their homes that they decided to build on a thoroughfare.

    The majority of the time, it's a 35MPH city road and they want it reduced to 25 or 20. So, PENNDOT comes out and does a "speed survey". They set the limit at the 85th percentile.

    Usually, the opposite happens. Instead of getting 25 or 20, they get 40 or 45. Teach your dumb kid not to play in the street!

    I gotta tell ya, if you're a x64 user, you're a different beast.

    My laptop came with Vista Home Premium x86. It's an AMD Turion 64 x2, and I was pretty pissed at HP for shipping the wrong version of the OS, and Penn State gave me a copy of Ultimate x64 for $60, so why the hell not.

    Maybe it's the "seat of the pants fallacy" here, but Vista x64 is a much stabler system as a whole. DEP has actually saved my ass once or twice because i clicked something stupid and ran into an exploit.

    I'd probably be running XP x64 if I could - but HP blows and drivers were too much of a pain to find. Ubuntu AMD64 actually beats XP, everything works first time around except wireless (atheros... what's new)
