I thought about this and what I realized is that in a one month free subscription the company has a higher chance of collecting any sub fees. By three months some players may decide it isn't for them or that they no longer want to play because of the fee that they didn't have to pay for the first 90 days. I think the urge or pressure to unsub before the 3 months ended would be a lot stronger than that in a one month and overall the company could lose a lot of money.
Halo is rated mature just like GTA. Not only is doom not xbox exclusive(it's a PC game) it has not been a highly successful movie. A Halo movie hasn't even been made yet so your argument there is pointless as well.
I don't really care about voip in all games, although I haven't gamed on a console online before
I don't want people inviting me to game x while I'm playing game y
If I actually care if person x is online I'd have alternate means of contact with them.
What have I missed out on that would make me want this service? I trust devs of good games to be able to make their online work. Shitty devs with shitty games and shitty work done on online portions I don't care about because of the shitty game factor.
The instanced maps do hurt the community aspect of the game somewhat- you eliminate griefers, kill-stealers, and PKers, but you also eliminate a good deal of tension and happenstance. It can be hard to find the community in-game.
I agree with this. Instancing is something I don't like a lot in my games. Although without instancing guild wars would not work the same at all. I would be interested to see someone make competative game like guildwars but not relient on instancing.
I actually have a hard time coming up with anything innovative. Right now at 2am all I can think of is parappa the rapper(american I believe) and katamari damacy(japan)
Introversion (Darwinia) Maxis (Spore, despite the best efforts of EA) - not out Quantic Dream (Fahrenheit) Funcom (Dreamfall) - not out Rockstar North (Bully) - not out Neversoft (Gun) - not out
your example of innovated western design is 2 games and then 4 that the general public has not playen? Developers can say a lot about how innovative something is but in actual gameplay and execution it might be a baby step and hardly of merit.
I can feel it flowing now. After all the reading on this for hours I didn't think you could chop it against a table like that. Well it's just a commerical so maybe you can't but it implies you can.
I remember when I was a kid we would make fun of whoever was the kid who would move the controller trying to turn a car faster in a game... now look what nintendo did.
Basically PS3 will have all the followups to PS2 stuff and Xbox360 will have the followups to all the xbox stuff.
So it's a safe bet to say that GT5 with real damage added. Metal Gear 4 which is going to have some type of AI partners in it. Squaresoft is probably still showing the most love to sony. As well as any GTA probably coming out on PS3 a year before being on anything else. Unfortunately I'm not sure of what unique stuff is coming out for PS3.
well nintendo doesn't have to dominate to stay in the console business. At least I wouldn't think so. A lot of money is going around and the big N can probably continue business with a very small portion of it. Although if things do turn out bad for nintendo and the revolution they could possibly refocus onto handhelds again and stay alive.
There was no mention of nintendo. I wonder if this may have been left out of their research or if it to the writers isn't considered a competitor anymore. I think that in the 2 console per gamer market nintendo has a very good chance to be a lot of people's second choice.
It just means that as two sides of monsters fight you completely wipeout one before moving to the next. I'm sure the chain will be a reasonably low number of monsters.

Yeah when I think of Sony I think of Final Fantasy, GTA, Metal Gear, Gran Turismo, all the mega franchises it has.
I also like that there are unique games like katamari damacy and parappa on the system. By having a huge game library it's the best of both worlds. There are musthave titles for the gamer than the unexpected gem they find(parappa, katamari)
Going on the rumors I've heard about the gyro in the controller maybe the next game would have much more indepth combat revolving around dodging and swinging at the same time and all the weapons actually being solid objects that would clash against each other if two swings meet.
I'm also hoping that Mario Kart will be based on leaning into corners as it's next theme.
I played graal classic way back in 1999 but never really got into it. In addition to that I think it was on some sort of weird trial system at the time. Like all the other basement MMOs of the time it could have used a lot of polish. Maybe it's gotten that by now though.

have you programed an online game for both the ps2 and xbox?
but the ps2s online capabilities are a pay add-on which could make a big difference with the PS3s probably being included.
Consoles have lots of great games and genres that aren't replicated on PCs. That is not redundancy.

Quite true.

haha. Ultra rumble feature.
Be careful if you are playing a fps and have the controller too close to your face you'll lose your hearing.
I can feel it flowing now. After all the reading on this for hours I didn't think you could chop it against a table like that. Well it's just a commerical so maybe you can't but it implies you can.
I'm worried it may even get hit accidentally.

yeah FFVIII was the only one I've had a level 99 game in aside from tactics.

there is a subs.rar folder as well as a subs.sfv file
I think PC gaming is killing the alternate operating system market.

I find it lacking in exuberance
