What's the difference if two people near you are standing there talking to each other versus one person on a cell phone? You maybe get to eavesdrop on the entire conversation with both people, but that's the only difference I see.

Headset laws when driving are probably a good idea to keep people's hands on the wheel, but I don't see any reason to limit/regulate usage. You have to remember that some people actually use their phones for important things also, not just talking to their girlfriend in babytalk.

As far as I'm concerned, if someone comes into my house and forcefully comes through my locked bedroom door, they do not have good intentions. They will either be shot or chopped up with a razor sharp samurai sword.

Oddly enough, there have been a couple of incidents lately in my city where burglars have been breaking into occupied houses around 5am, tying up the occupants at gunpoint, and then stealing all of their crap.

Get yourself an alarm system, it's a good deterrent, and has the bonus of alerting you and waking you up if someone does decide to break in. With a properly installed alarm system, you can be reasonably sure that the bumps in the night are nothing. I've was robbed once at a house I was renting, they took a bunch of stuff. And, one of my roomies was home at the time, watching TV in the basement. A second time, we had an alarm system. Someone worked the back door open and it set off the alarm, they ran away. They are lucky they ran away too because they would have only been seconds away from being shot.

Additionally, what about the mom and pop ISP with 2 T-1's and a bunch of DSL customers? All you are going to do is saturate their lines, doing almost nothing to harm the spammer. I suppose it will force smaller ISP's to implement a deny outgoing port 25 rule, which they should all do anyway. My ISP does this, however, I can call them and tell them I run my own mailserver, and they open it for me. It's the people that are clueless that they worry about.

I picked one up. I'm not impressed with the games that much at all. Mario is kind of boring. Metroid Prime will probably be good, but, the demo doesn't allow you to invert your aiming. Since I always invert my mouse when playing FPSs, this is really annoying and very hard to get used to. I picked up Asphalt Urban GT also, but I haven't opened it yet. Still trying to decide whether or not to return it. The reviews didn't look so hot.

The unit as far as technology goes is pretty sweet. The touchscreen thing is cool, and the wireless is neat. If there was an open SDK for developing apps for it, people could come up with some pretty neat stuff to run on this. I'm sure game shops will have some neat stuff also, it will just take time.

Physically, the unit feels kind of cheap. Button layout is not ergonomic at all, and it feels like it was just slapped together. It just feels like there is empty space inside of it, which means it probably could have been smaller. In any case, it doesn't look like they put nearly as much effort into the actual construction and physical design of the unit as they did into the actual guts of it. For $149 though, you can't expect that much.

I would assume when the game library grows, they will do away with the 2nd cartridge slot and make the unit a bit more compact.

Honestly though, I bought the unit for the potential of what will come, not for what's currently available. And I like gadgets.

I just installed a ton of recessed lights in my house, and I bought 21 Ushio PAR-20 floods for the 4" cans.

    Specs on the Ushio's are:
    50 watts at 120 volts
    600 lumens
    2900K
    45 degree flood

These are pretty damn good specs for a 50par20. The Enlux Neutral White is as follows:
22 watts (says 120 volts, but could be 130. Why are they listing figures for 15 watts? Odd.)
    300 lumens
    3300K
    80 degrees

Half the light output. So I'm getting double the light output from just over double the wattage. The color is a bit whiter, which is nice, but I prefer a warmer color. I had a 2800K bulb that I compared to the 2900, and the 2900 was about right. Enlux makes a warmer bulb around this range though, so it's no big deal.

The wide 80 degree flood may be nice in some applications, but spreading 300 lumens over that much area is going to give you very dim light. You want to overlap your lights anyway, but you would need to do much more overlap to get a decent amount of brightness down by the floor. So just popping the bulbs in might not be sufficient if you're picky, you may have to change your lighting layout for optimum coverage and intensity.

I'd like to get ahold of one to compare to some of the bulbs I purchased for testing and comparison, but it's not worth $80 to me.

Note that even if you could put them in recessed cans, the 80 degree width would likely be detrimental because much of your beam would hit the diffuser around the edge and you would lose a ton of your light.
