    How do we know? I'm sure that there's things being blocked that aren't just child pr0n. Maybe I've tried to look at one... how would I know? Internet sites are quite often just unreachable, never an explanation. Could be down, could be censored...

    As a grown man I'm really not happy with this at all.... I wish the government of australia weren't so ignorant, and so up-for-sale-to-the-loudest-whinger.

    So you need to do a destructive read. That doesn't mean that a software bug won't cause multiple reproductions of that read state.

    I like it. I could make a backup copy of say, Natalie Portman, have my way with her (with hot grits of course), and then replace her with the backup :)

    What's the difference though, if the second is exactly the same?

    If you hand me a coin, and i turn my back then hand you another one indistinguishable from the original at any level, is it the same coin? How can you be sure?

    Technically, no. You get an unlimited card before you get one limited that high. The highest limited card is probably about a hundred grand...

    Why not just encrypt the card number using the user's password as the key? The user's password doesn't have to be stored anywhere except in the user's brain cells

    Because:
    a) users are dumb, making brute-force attacks easy
    b) it's very easy to discard a lot of incorrect cc details

    It's not about getting music cheaper you idiot. It's about the artist getting more of the money, and not paying for a $20 cd when you only like 4 of the tracks.

    And Super Streetfighter, my god, that game Ruled. but I guess there wouldn't be enough buttons

    Super street fighter II is on gba, and I can tell you it's bloody great. Much better than the crappy SNES versions, plays like arcade, but with a few new levels (ken's is cool, guile's is a bit shite)... Highly reccommended.
