Unless you've been doing what I've been doing for the last 30 minutes; browsing the web with my left arm comfortably under my chin, or in my lap half the time.
Who made the rule that a movie's story must take place in the span of a few weeks?
For example, the Shadow Moses incident that comprises MGS would be a fine example of a movie just on it's own. All the allusion to the connections between Solid and Liquid could either be addressed at the time or in a sequel involving Big Boss.
May I just be the first to say
on
Metal Gear Movie?

This series has, above any other, the potential to overcome the game into movie curse - so long as they can avoid becoming mired in cheap "Hey I was your favorite video game, remember THIS sequence?" scenes, and just stick to creating an original tactical espionage action story.
Also, no unwinding the entire plot in codec scenes -- MGS2, I'm looking at you here!
I'm a professional web developer and I can safely say I couldn't be nearly as productive without my Mac.
I do my main development in BBEdit, checking against Safari's rendering engine. As things are shaping up, I'll check it in Mozilla (and variants), Mac/MSIE (we HATESSSS it!), as well as VirtualPC running Windows 2000 to keep ensure things are looking good in Win/MSIE, and lastly Lynx to ensure that content is properly available, despite lack of formatting.
This way I feel I've got all my bases covered.
KHTML (Safari, Konqueror)
Gecko (Mozilla, Firefox, Camino, etc...)
MSIE::Mac
MSIE::Win
Text-based (lynx, WAP, screen readers, etc...)
My Macintosh lets me get everything done with ONE computer on my desk. No need to deal with the upkeep of several boxes, as well as the real estate they'd all require at my workspace.
I prefer Freshly Squeezed Software's Pulp Fiction.
It's got an interface similar to Mail, and also features a built-in browser (via WebKit) so you needn't leave the application to post comments on people's blogs.
It's not free, but you should be able to scrounge up $25 right?
It's not just the screen -- don't forget that it's going to need to power a motor to spin the optical media, and a laser to read the data from said disc.
That said, PSP looks impressive -- but only being able to play for 2 hours doesn't seem reasonable for a handheld. I think it's a home system for the antisocial.
I've found Apple's Exposé works wonders for the tried and true Desktop metaphor.
Throughout my workday, I've got dozens of PSDs open in Photoshop, twice that many documents open in BBEdit, plus other essentials like Safari, Firefox, Explorer, VirtualPC, Suitcase iChat, iCal, iTunes and Mail.
Exposé helps me find exactly what I'm looking for. Fast.
It's truly one of the few things I never knew I always wanted once I started putting it to use.
I have used about every PDF library for PHP under the sun, so here's my $0.02.
pdflib - SUCKS, the API is a pain in the ass. I liken it to doing your own dental work -- in the dark. You can circumvent this a little using the pc4p wrapper, but it's fickle.
fpdf - It's pretty good, although it doesn't natively support any sane ways of dealing with text in tables - I was trying to use it to generate PDF invoices and quotations. It would barf and break columns when my text should wrap to the next line. The only way around this would be writing custom extensions to the class.
r&os - This is what I really recommend using. Like fpdf, it doesn't require any additional libraries to be installed - everything runs within PHP itself. The documentation is pretty good and I've really enjoyed using it.
Yeah, we've got that here too - it's called the Nickelcade. For $2.25 admission you can play for as much as you want. Older games are $0.05, newer games are $0.10 - and things like DDR are $0.25, which is still a bargain compared to the buck or two you'd spend for 1 game (3 songs) elsewhere.
I take offense to your remark. I'm not the least bit racist. Let's face it, the way Douglas Adams wrote that character, I pictured a white english guy.
Mebbe the old BBC version where Zaphod has a paper mache head can be to blame for this.
It's ugly, but it works. :)

...almost had a GNU/death experience?
Seriously though, that's horrible news. My deepest condolences to the individuals involved as well as their families.
Be careful, some people might hold you to that...

Um, P.S. That doesn't look like Panther for shit.
Sure there's certain OS X ideas - Dock, static menu bar, etc.. - but how can you possible say that it looks like this?
Your comparison just reminds me of this. Just save yourself the trouble and get the real thing.
...as it may be as close to playing HL2 as us Mac users are going to get.
Plus it looks similar to Metal Slug, which is never a bad thing IMO.
WTF is "expresso"?
If this is a code contest, should we see not only the output, but what it took to get there?
JPEGs are nice and all - don't get me wrong. But I'd much prefer to see the code as well.

I'm well aware of SNES9x and the others listed at emulation.net.
The problem is, the save states are for ZSNES - a completely different emulator.
Any chance of these being captured as MPEGs or something by anyone? Not having the ROM, and being on a Mac, I can't use ZSNES.

Creepy? You bet your ass - but it's NOT offtopic.
He just doesn't believe in feminism - you know, the belief that women are people too.* :)

Oh, c'mon - it's not _THAT_ hard. Exercide implies that doing so will kill me.

Does the casting for Ford Prefect seem odd to anyone else? At least when I read the books, I NEVER pictured Ford Prefect to look like this.
