Blah blah blah. Some Programmer forgot to delete some files. Big fucking deal. the seans are not in the game, the game has to be modified. The UNMODIFIED version is rated M, somneone changed it.

I am a web guy, let me put it in prepective. I build a website. I have lots of images of people on the website while I am making it. Marketing then decides they don't want to use prople since there is some diversiciation law that says we have to show a certain number or different ethnic groups ans all be got a asian chicks.

So I rewrite the HTML to link to other images of building, money, cars whatever. BUT I foget the sort thru my images folder and delete the images of people.

Later some hacker (cracker, whatever) gets in and changes the links to these unlinked photos of people and now everyone is mad that it is full of asian chicks.

Why are they getting mad at me? Xause I forgot to delete some orphaned files and some hacker discovered them. The site did not contain the people when Marketing approved it, and it is true of GTA. The unmodified rated M does not have the sex scenes.

    DeFrauded my ass!

  5. Advertising is an odd beast. on Full-Motion Ads Come to Videogames · · Score: 2

Some examples. Typically if you pay for something then it is ad free, otherwise the ads pay for it or greatly reduce the cost.

Magazines... are filled with ads yet we still pay for them. I al told magazines would be $40 without the ads so ads are welcome in that enviroment. Plus they are very passive.

TV shows have commercial.... You pay for delivery of the shows via the cable/sat comapny but not for the shows them selves so commercials are ok here.

A side note, years ago I hace a Cable company I went to digital comapny and when I pressed menu, 1/2 of the screen had ads for Pay per view. I thought this was crazy that I paid A LOT for this and half of my usable screen had ads. I dropped them for Satelite. My current cable company (no dish in this apartment) resets to the Pay per view preview channel every time you turn on the digital Cable box. So I went to basic cable and got a TiVo

Tivo... has light ads, in the main menu they have entries to "see this movie trailier" or "check out the new Chevy Truck" I think these are lame since I already pay for TiVo service but they are very passive so I am ok with it.

Games... I pay a lot of money if I buy a game $50 is way too much for a game in my mind but it is what the market will bare. I used to buy more gsames when they were $20 but oh well.

I have noticed static ads like Billboards of NFS Underground 2 in Burn Out 3. These seem fine for me, they add some realism as is very passive. Full blown ads I will not be too happy about. I already paid a shit load for this game and now you want to make more money off of me. Oh and while you screw your programmers too.

Good point but I belive governemnt has no business in private companies. Maybe a little in utiliy monopolies like electricity and gas, and telco/ISP are close to becoming "utilities". But to put what I said in relation to your hospital example. Most hospitals are "for profit" corporations and yes they can pick and choose their patients. They wat to get paid just like anyone else. People have the power, if they don;t like it then they rally up and either change the policies of the local hospital or start their own. Then the other hospital goes out of business becasue they chose not to help certain people.

When I had DSL I had to get a phone line from the local Telco, but never used it. Been cell phone only for several years now. ut I was not going to get the DSL thru them. They charge $50 per month for PPPoE and I could get Static IP for same price from another ISP.

Of course the fact that i could get a different ISP is due to government regulation. but that is becasue they are basically a utility monopoly so the government makes them give me a choice, which is about the only place this kind of regulation is good. But I did not use the phone company's Internet cause it sucked. They lost my business.

Ah I could really give a fuck, everyone wants less government then wants everything regulated. Guess I am just a whinny bitch like most others on /. Please mod this down since I am suck a fucking lamo! I can't spell eihter, nor type but then again I could give a fuck! I still make over $30 an hour reading /. all day.

Now AMD is just as expensive. And now they have all that 3000xp bullshit. Because of that I planned on getting a P4 for my next computer. $200 is still my price point. But now Intel is pulling even more crap wiht is BMW naming style. 660, etc.

So Actually I am back to wanting AMD mainly because of the onboard memory controller. the speed will be a lot less then a Intel but I beleive AMD has more finesse. They can do more with less.

So back in the day of my AMD 486, K6-II and Early Athlons I was a AMD man due to the lower price. But now since AMD is expensive I will get what ever has the best bang for the buck.

Intel's dual-core CPUs cost twice as much as a single core of the same speed. If AMD can give me a dual core for cheaper then will win my loyality again.
