Condolences from all of us who wish him well in his new life. I hope this worked out ok.

Check out the club's webpage at

(Which amusingly has a free vip signup via email...)

Or just wish him well via email. it lists an address of:
    masterwebfanclub@aol.com
(I guess he did not want to deal with spam on his own domain, thus the aol account.)

Finally, there is a newsgroup if you wish to find out more about the club itself:

Lets be mature about this and not abuse these points of contact.

Thats an intersting viewpoint... but just doesn't reflect reality. For example someone living in Abeline, Texas and making 27,500 would need to make 40,000 to live in Ann Arbor, Michigan. (Source: http://www.homefair.com/homefair/servlet/ActionSer vlet?pid=200&tool=salarycalculator&previousPage=11 6&cid=homefair&fromState=MI&toState=TX&salary=4000 0&fromCity=2603000&toCity=4801000&ownrent=own)
How is this possible if they share a latitude? Because there are OTHER FACTORS. Same thing applies for crime statistics. There is even overlap in the factors.

I remember those days. However the install has gotten much easier (at least for the lazy.) The Red Hat RPM installs fine through up2date, and the gentoo install also works without a hitch. Not a single dependency / library problem, although if you want to use the stock updates you may need to add some things via cpan.

I used to dual boot solely for Quicken, but that stopped years ago when they made internet explorer an integrated part of their product. I have been using Gnucash since, and with the new features in the 1.8 releases scheduled payments and billing customers for my home based business is easier than ever.

Still plan to check out the new moneydance when time (and server load) permits...

I recently checked out lindows, and though not overly impressed (too busy playing with RH8) they are making progress, and even have some commercial downloads in their click and run warehouse (tuxracer commercial edition for example).

Running of windows programs does have a way to go, but I was able to log on to and AOL account & use some of its functions right out of the box.

    from http://wwws.sun.com/software/star/staroffice/6.0/g et/index.html
The enterprise software offering consists of:

    * Right to use (RTU) license $50.00/user (150 users) down to $ 25.00/user (10,000 users)
    * Media kits - binary CDs $25.00 - five CD sets
    * Documentation kits - printed user and setup manuals $50.00 - five printed documentation sets
    * Enterprise support
Admittedly $50,000 for 1000 licenses is a large chunk of cash. However, keep in mind that the cost would be way higher for MSOffice for anyone comparing the two, one user can use 1 copy on up to 5 machines on multiple OS platforms, and you can always mix staroffice and openoffice based on user need.
