Nope see no real picture here. Look man, I am manily a unix / linux user. And if they do this sort of things to cd's I buy one, basicaly my computer (which is my home entertainment unit) no longer can play the cd's that I bought to use on it. But I would not buy It if I knew that it would not play on my system, but they will not tell you what cd's will not work. And then thew wil use a windows only format wich is again useless to me. So they screw me out of cash (cd opened, can'r return) and they remove my right to use the proberity I have got.

The legal bs that I read is what they are using to screw the public.

Secondly, like the post in slashdot says, he got slapped. Personally I think if you are dumb enough to get caught, then you deserver more the a little slap. I got a thought on this, how many people in the survey actually told the truth. If you do an illegal action, do you tell the truth about it Hell no. So personally I got the funniest feeling that these numbers are not that accurate. And another point that puts this into a shady spot is that it's an online survey. He should be released because basically he gave a presentation that Adobe did not like. If anything, adobe should be taken to court for manipulating the law.

How would you feel, I would love to know man, you do nothing wrong in the country, but you get arrested for something you did in another country where it is legal. If I want to try drugs legally, I am headed over to Amsterdam; What the US is saying here is that we don't have a law saying drugs are legal, so we will arrest you for what you did out side of our jurisdiction. 22. Intel needs a wake up call on Double-Whammy Look At The Pentium 4 · · Score: 1

Ok, every article on the Intel Pentium 4 has so far shown that my expectations of the p4 are way off. I was able to get the original specs for the chip, and I must admit, I was drooling all over the paper. Things like 512k first level cash and things of that nature. Then I read the new specs on the p4 when it is released, where is this chip I drooled over. Well it dose not exist, they cut and chopped all the good stuff out. Now an Athlon 1.3 ghz is running just under a p4 in most bench marks when the p4 is running at 1.7 ghz. With a 400 mhz difference, the p4 should be whooping the Athlon for fun. But as any informed person knows, mhz dose not give a accurate idea of how fast the chip truly is. Now what gets me is who actually decided to cut all the good things out of this chip they wanted to create. Well from what I have read (I believe I found some articles through SlashDot, but am not fully sure and would love clarification on where this info would be) the engineers did not cut out the good stuff. It was the marketing and accounting departments. So we are getting business drones (we are Intel, you will be assimilated) deciding the design of Pentiums chips. This is completely wrong to let departments that do not really understand the chips except that the idea to them "BIGGER IS BETTER".

This is no way to properly run a business, and now with amd's big pushes with their Athlon chip, they are being hit hard. With amd biting Intel's heals and making major headway, you would think Intel would wake up and smell the coffee( mmmm coffee). But they are still just designing rather non-innovative chips that are not really putting up a big fight against amd's Athlons. The p4 are still considered expensive, and still are being soled mainly with the rambus (bs chips) ram.

I am actually hoping that amd will push there Athlons to higher ghz speeds soon, so that we can see a true 1.7 ghz Athlon vs. p4 1.7 ghz. Or say at that time 2 ghz vs. 2 ghz battle. That might be able to wake up Intel. But we have to wait and see. What I really would like to happen is to see a real processor war. At this point, there is only Intel getting beaten down bit by bit in the 32-bit pc market. But I guess we will have to wait and see.

  23. why is he being charged, Its adobe bending the law on Say Here Why Sklyarov Should Go Free · · Score: 1

Why do I feel that he has been jailed wrongly? Lets see, gives presentation, and is arrested. I have downloaded and read his presentation, he dose not five out his program and only explains the basics of how it is done in his speech. Be honest, with this, we get to learn that there is work needing to be done in the e book side of things. But adobe dose not want to do work, they rather arrest the people who know how to hack their sough and pretend it did not happen. Any real court is going to overturn this anyway, so adobe is wasting time in this fruitless effort.

Basically Adobe is bending the law much like Microsoft has done in the past to suite them selves. So why should he be released you ask, because he did nothing wrong but try and open the worlds eyes to the point that e books are not secure. If anything adobe should be charged with manipulating the law or something for this sort of behavior. But like we all know, they will get off scoot free.

People have asked me why I do not want to work in the states instead of Canada. Well it's the bs like this that I keep seeing in the states that keep me out of there. I don't feel like going to jail because I have been asked to give a presentation.
