take a look at this Tom's Hardware Guide article on CD-RW drives and what copy protection they could get by out of the box by using blindread/blindwrite: http://www6.tomshardware.co m/storage/02q2/020617/i ndex.html
Three out of four were successfully copied (two versions of safedisc, cactus data shield, and the one they couldn't get by: TAGES, which is used in games).
Are they allowed to be scanning pages from the magazine and just posting them online? Seems like Popular Science is losing magazine sales from this. Isn't this copyright infringement?
(I'm glad to see the article but I can't help but ask if they can legally put this up)
I think it's a safe bet that we'll see more donut commercials on digital television broadcasts- it ensures that it reaches the best possible demographic that will be influenced by donut commercials (cops, of course).
The American Federation of Teachers ($15,512,224 ) is throwing in much more than Microsoft is on lobbying efforts ($9,468,287).
And look at how lopsided their contributions are toward democrats. They obviously have special interests- this needs a lot of attention from the media!
"Microsoft is, conspicuously, the only entry under 'Computers/Internet.'"" Microsoft also conspicuously has tens of billions of dollars in cash to sit on. Heaven forbid that they have any interests in politics.
So what you're saying is..I can finally accept those millions of dollars from undisclosed sources (sorry, they told me I can't say who they are) in Africa without feeling guilty? It will be perfectly legal? I don't know about you, but it sounds like this is the right step.
Actually, you could if your phone company added the extra infrastructure at their end to support DSL. It's not the copper wire that's the real limiting factor, it's the way you're trying to send and receive data over it.

Sometimes I get an urge to see every word in the English language and find oddballs. Luckily some sites include every single word in the language in their meta-tags. I simply go to view source and begin my adventure.:o
This is just the classic states rights vs the federal government argument. It didn't happen until the early to mid 20th century that the Supreme Court started to support everything from the federal government over the states. "A change in time that saved nine." Because the president tried packing the supreme court (and failed), some of the justices got scared and started supporting all of these federal programs.
this sounds like an excellent opportunity for me to sell legal services and products via cell phone messages to make sure this law works as it should, obviously I would have an opt-out number to call just in case you don't want to hear about these various services.
Alas- if only our school's network wasn't so anal about anything and everything. There's not a chance it would allow me to put Mozilla on there and I'm sure that asking for it would just get a weird look from one of the stupid ladies that runs the network from the library.
If you ever had to use Internet Explorer on the iMacs at my school you would definitely believe that a faster machine would 'make the internet run faster.'
Render times for pages and the speed of your connection could both be construed as factors on how fast you load things on the web, but after a certain point (long passed, 500mhz+ machines) you don't need anything more.
Hey, I watched Weakest Link. What was that all about?
Heh. Well, see, Weakest Link is all about making people look bad, and making Anne Robinson look good. I thought that I'd have fun with her, by being even ruder and more offensive than she is. I thought the best way to accomplish this, would be to play a condescending A-hole.
In the print version they show a screenshot of Quake II and identify it as being the original Quake and they also credit Return to Castle Wolfenstein as being an id project while in fact Gray Matter Studios did the bulk of the work on it (id has been working on DOOM III).
Person 1: ITS GODZILLA! Person 2: Actually, it's not actually godzilla due to trademark restrictions but we can still pretend it's godzilla. Person 1: RUN, ITS GODZILLA! Person 2: (but not really!) AAAHH!
Considering that Apple market share is fairly small and then add in those using AOL on it it's even smaller this won't make much of an impact. Most sites already work completely in Mozilla, the only ones being the ones who don't care about working on every browser, and never have.
The only uses I've gotten out of them for a long while have been boot disks and flashing the bios. However, if you have a fairly new system, odds are that it can boot off a cdrom and install the OS from there and now you can even flash your BIOS from your OS. Unless you have a digital camera that uses one I see no real reason for them anymore.

Yeah, just look at their fine line of "PureTouch" models.

And I thought I could BS a paper..just look at all of the crap in the "BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION" for both patents.
Even if you don't agree with the patents, you surely have to agree that these people clearly excel at the fine art of creating bullshit.
If only my English teacher could be as easily duped as the U.S. Patent Office.

It doesn't appear so, but if you look at the bottom of their spec sheet page:

It looks at though it could possibly be added if demand was great enough. This is just speculation though.

word has it that this dragon chip is actually an uncooled AMD processor which will quickly burst into flames, hence the "dragon" name.
