Everybody would have joined it. Unfortunately, the union can only extract more money out of the company when it is doing well but when IBM was doing well they compensated their people appropriately.
Why would anybody wait for a box in the mail when they can just take a short trip to the cable center and have it the same day? What a stupid complaint.
Could the rising unemployment rate for web developers be a result of the hundred or more boot camps churning out new candidates. I know most of them are able to place a high percentage of graduates in jobs but what happens if they get a job and then can't cut it. If they are deemed unqualified after a couple of months? What do they do then? It would be interesting if somebody could follow these people over a number of years to see how many stick in the industry.
The trouble with that is after the ACA even the high deductible plans have sky high premiums in most states. Unless you make little enough money to qualify for subsidies you wind up subsidizing everyone else on the plan.
Your solution is not workable. There is not enough bandwidth for more than two providers on the network. A typical cable coax network brings ~5-6 Gbps to the house. Broadcast TV requires dedicated bandwidth, if you allowed two providers on the link most of the bandwidth would have to be allotted to them. Who decides how this bandwidth is parceled out and by what criteria?
Does the city charge a fee to the companies that hook up at the concentration point? What about Netflix? They don't believe they should have to pay anything for bandwidth to the customers. Do they get to ride for free?
The problem with setting it up this way is that some applications have are sensitive to delay while others are not. If you follow net neutrality principles then delay sensitive services like video are not going to function well in times of peak demand.
You're going to have to find a better source than Men't Health. The people who constantly run stories about how anybody can get "ripped abs" in a month lack credibility with me. I think you can make a better argument that reading Men's Health with its fad diets and exercise regiments is worse for your health than drinking soda.
Training isn't useless, forced training is. Making kids take programming classes is about as useful as forcing them to take Art appreciation or classical music training.
I wish all the big money enviros like Bill Gates would completely divest of fossil fuel companies. That way folks like me could buy the stock on the cheap and rake in steady dividends. Come on Bill, put your money where your mouth is!
Your numbers on the multiple CCIE holders are off quite a bit.The count is over 3500 and growing. Not to take away from your other points but I think it shows that the field is much more heavily saturated then some people think.
Seriously, the late 90s was the time to hop on the CCIE gravy train. Back then it was practically a license to print money, today it will not guarantee you any job much less a high paying one. The networking field has reached a sort of rough equilibrium where the number of people working in it is nearly the same as the number of jobs. If you have many years of experience in complex networking environments then you can still command top pay. But if you do not have that then it is not worth pursuing. There are a ton of people out there trying to break into the networking industry and a limited number of entry level jobs.
There are no full-time networking jobs out there in small and medium sized businesses. Large companies may hire a small handful of them but that is it. The jobs are primarily with vendors, ISPs, and consulting firms. You had better have verifiable high-end experience or close personal ties to get into one of those gigs. Otherwise it will be a relatively low-paying NOC job waiting for a higher position to open up and hope that somebody will give you a chance.
I think your biggest problem is that you have the "grass is always greener' mindset right now. You are unhappy in your job so you are looking elsewhere. A better plan would be to look into other areas of software engineering where your past experience can be helpful.
Are they saying its OK for the government to collect data on you if you use dialup? How come privacy does not extend to those users?
This way he gets to take credit or autonomous cars the way Al Gore took credit for the Internet.

They will hack their Twitter account. That should even the score.
They will probably use these cities to house ghost armies and take over the world. Bet they got the idea from "Return of the King".
So anybody with a QAM tuner gets all content for free? Great plan.
The story has nothing at all to do with IPTV. The proposals would have no effect on that.

You left out the part about him being a Muslim. Anybody can take apart a clock.
How much is the value of the lives of the thousands of eagles and other birds killed by windmills every year. Or don't they count?

It means that justice - mercy = truth
Or you could eat an enormous portion of vegetables which would actually fill your stomach and make you full without the unneeded fat.

That is the real question.
We do use his thinking processes as law. That'w were no-fault came from.
Don't the schools in your area have athletic teams? Most of their events will probably be free so I don't know what you are complaining about.
I wish all the big money enviros like Bill Gates would completely divest of fossil fuel companies. That way folks like me could buy the stock on the cheap and rake in steady dividends. Come on Bill, put your money where your mouth is!
I'm sure they're not that greedy. They would be more than happy to be paid infinite times.
Are they building out their own network or outsourcing it the way HBO did?
