built-in microprocessors that could relieve the confusion, anger and frustration of putting them together.
Relieve the confusion, anger, and frustration?
"Now now... I know this is hard... you're going through a tough time, I know. Just close your eyes and count till 10... ok? Now take a deep breath and this time hit the nail with the hammer, not your thumb. You're doing a good job!"
Does having all that technology really improve the quality of life? Touch screens to turn on the lights? Whats wrong with a light switch? Speakers in the walls? Thats nice, so not only does it sound like the sound is coming from... well... the walls, but every room in the house would pretty much hear whatever you're listening to as well.
If this were true (yeah right) then wouldn't maintaining a whole seperate codebase "just in case" be a bit much? That would be like a game developer developing a game for XBox and PS2 but not releasing the XBox version because it is a "fallback plan."
This rumor just doesn't sound very realistic to be.
My last car was a 1988 Ford Escort. I don't see where someone would equate "Escort" and "speeder" in their minds, but whatever. At least they made it look better.:)
It is kinda dumb for cable modems, isn't it? Its either Roadrunner, Earthlink (Roadrunner), or AOL (they're Time Warner, so are they still installed via Roadrunner?) At least if you get Earthlink Roadrunner you get an extra "just-in-case" dialup connection.
Out here we have the three mentioned above, plus DSL from Bellsouth and some other DSL providers like Portbridge.
Yeah but which HTML standard? When I save a file as HTML in Word it has 50 HTML tags for every charcter of text I type. Now I know THAT isn't standard.:)
I say just save it as text and put the nifty underscores where you need emphasis. (I _thought_ something smelled funny.) But then the question would be: how to encode it? Unicode?
But yeah, I think HTML would be a good choice, as long as its not MS Html.
Redhat's office is close to where I work (they're both on NCSU's Centinnial Campus) and its definately not as immense as the Redmond campus. I don't think we can call them the next Microsoft until they expand their offices some more.
Although, the fact that they have their own workout room (and we don't) means they do have a twinge if evil.
Umm $500 for an Xbox and three games? What three games might this be, for each of them to cost $100?
And why get these games if you plan on tossing them out?
I can rock to some old JPEGs.
I suppose soon some genius is going to find a way to rip CDs with a digital camera, right?

Cell phones don't make people stupid, they just bring a lot of them to light.
Thank god for McDonalds for giving us new healthier fries. Now we'll have no problem getting into shape for the FBI!
Or you could even have it where the lights turned on when you enter the room.
:)
Or hell, get a clapper!

I guess if you got enough money to spend...
Thats a custom computer for MS... when I think of custom PC though, I think of customized for the end user.
An X-Box is like a custom built PC?
What's so custom about it?
So they'll babble in some incoherant language that only they understand. And this is different from The Sims how?
This just in:
Apple is releasing a lighter OS with fewer features for the PC called "Starvin' Marvin."

Next stop: Doom III!

Out here in Raleigh we have lots of broadband providers to choose from. Unfortunately, they all cost the same. So much for competitve pricing.

It would be interesting to see a reply to that letter. :)
Too bad my portable MP3 player won't play OGG.
:)
I already spent $150 on it, I'm not gonna spend another $.75 on it.
Now is it $.75 for every instance of every player? If so, then thats a ton of money! Hell, a Linux distro alone has how many MP3 players?

Here I was thinking that people upgraded their PCs to run the latest version of Windows. :)
Do con artists have income statements or something? If so, and they report growth... should they be trusted?
If the monitor is halfway decent, you might be able to make a buck off of eBay.
They resort to a special laser surgery that is controlled remotely via satellite.
Oh wait...
I don't really think this scheme applies to the RIAA though. As far as I can tell from the article, this is for data CDs not music CDs.
