Wha? The thing is big enough, why don't they just throw the palm OS on one of their transmeta machines?
I want a PDA that will fit in my pocket COMFORTABLY. The Tungsten T is already too large (as a result I don't carry my palm with me everywhere anymore ) WTH would anyone want this thing?
With all the big names flying around, have you considered an Alienware machine? They're not the lightest in the world but they look to be fairly high quality.
They bill for games, but performance is performance.
I borrowed one from the local Fry's E. I thought the range was OK but not great. The reception in my house for most wifi devices is pretty bad for some reason, but with a linksys B/G access point reception was about as good as my first gen netgear B card. The device it's self is pretty cool.
O.T. I'm a hardcore grafiti user and I didn't care for the new grafiti that comes with it. I'd rather have an option for the old input interface. There are some things about it that work better... even than the T, which is what I currently have. Not being able to take voice notes and only having a mono speaker out is pretty horrible in my book. Streaming soma fm 'on the go' is still not an option.
...so I bought a Sidewinder. It was great for about a month, then it started drifting randomly, and finally settled on a slight turn to the left.
In sum, sidewinders are like most other M$ products, good in theory, crap in execution. It's too bad they don't have a real production cost for their O/S or they might discontinue that product line as well.
We could extend you're 'lecacy ports' comment to include lots of hardware inside the box. Apple redesigns everything for almost every new gen laptop. PC makers redesign as little as possible.
I agree. The mail-mailweb server is a p-pro 200 with 256mb ram and a Raid 5 SCSI Wide with some SERIOUSLY old drives. Performance is ok with about 100 users all going through the web interface.
So it's supposed to be starwars? Great. Endor looks like it's been logged to death!
And the bar scene with one guy sticking through another; is that some sort of alien sex?!
One of the things that makes the starwars universe so great is the fantastic locations. I'm thinking they could have done a better job with the sets, JKII quality @ LEAST.
North of PV? It's much cooler up there than in central phoenix. When I lived on Bell and 7th street coming over north mountain there was a definite temperature change (for the worse going south)
56 years.. Supposedly the average temp outside the city is 10deg F. cooler than in it. That long ago PV and Cave Creek wasn't even in the city; hell, I think Sunnyslope was still it's own burg. Have you noticed an increase in the average temp with the city encroaching?
110? What part of phoenix were you living in? EVERY summer here the hot months are 115-125.
Evap works really well except during monsoon season. All you have to do is leave your doors open, that's something many people don't realize about evap, you need to get max flow and to do that you need low backpressure (ie, open all the doors)
Back when I had dial up, I said "gimme" 1.whatever it was back then and then went to sleep.
The next morning I woke up and installed it. Total PERSONAL time? 10 minutes max.
You really don't have to watch the progress bar when the file's coming in. I suggest doing something more constructive like, spending time with a girl! (or guy if that's your preference)

Let's not forget the 5 minute product cycle.

When I first read that headline I thought it said "..choose profits over PIRACY"
I guess I just keep hoping...

It's the same in Ireland.
If you have an issue with someone you mention it to a mutual co-worker/friend and they tell the person. Face is very important.
Seems win 98 was out before 95 left beta... then ME 2 years later.. everyone was bitching about how quickly the operating systems were changing.
Apples doing the same thing and all we get is "OMG OMG OMG".....
C'mon. This is sheit. Upgrades this often shouldn't be charged for unless they come with something cool (like a better, bouncier girlfriend.)
Umm, it's "higher requirments THAN the game"
THEN is temporal.
THAN is comparative.
Hm,

Seriously, I design my applications like that.....
On the other hand, maybe we could get ATI to ask them to write drivers....
Simple, easy works with pop and imap,, and possible on almost every verizon phone currently sold.
I have no idea why wireless email would be a small niche. What else have you got to do on the toilet?
WoW! Those colors, hell the box itself, makes me think of Veritechs and the other big robots in Robotech.
Sounds pretty dumb. I would KILL (not quite) for a Verizon/Samsung phone with bluetooth.
At 12 I could tell you all about plate tectonics, geography, archeology, etc etc...
Games should be educational. On-line communities can also be a force for good, but in the end THIS world is the one we live in.
Books and real humans are the answer.

I'm really going to have to move to linux aren't I?
I always hoped the intelligence of people who approve stories was higher than that of the average reader. Apparently this isn't the case.
Put the brains back behind slashdot. Perhaps if we apply enough electricity their brains may shed some light....
and I've pictures of boobies on it!
Yeah!
"Installing the JDK is not a hassle. If it is then you really dont want to be coding in Java"
Or anything else for that matter...

It's almost as small as the transmeta sonys! That's INCREDIBLE! AWE STRIKING!
I have to pee!
Spam in spaaaace!
