  1. Someone got us up the bomb on New Sony Clie PEG-UX50 · · Score: 1

Wha? The thing is big enough, why don't they just throw the palm OS on one of their transmeta machines?

I want a PDA that will fit in my pocket COMFORTABLY. The Tungsten T is already too large (as a result I don't carry my palm with me everywhere anymore ) WTH would anyone want this thing?

  2. Alienware? on Apple-Quality Intel Laptops? · · Score: 4, Informative

With all the big names flying around, have you considered an Alienware machine? They're not the lightest in the world but they look to be fairly high quality.

They bill for games, but performance is performance.

  3. Range is alright on External Antennas for Tungsten C Handhelds? · · Score: 1

I borrowed one from the local Fry's E. I thought the range was OK but not great. The reception in my house for most wifi devices is pretty bad for some reason, but with a linksys B/G access point reception was about as good as my first gen netgear B card. The device it's self is pretty cool.

O.T. I'm a hardcore grafiti user and I didn't care for the new grafiti that comes with it. I'd rather have an option for the old input interface. There are some things about it that work better... even than the T, which is what I currently have. Not being able to take voice notes and only having a mono speaker out is pretty horrible in my book. Streaming soma fm 'on the go' is still not an option.

In sum, sidewinders are like most other M$ products, good in theory, crap in execution. It's too bad they don't have a real production cost for their O/S or they might discontinue that product line as well.

We could extend you're 'lecacy ports' comment to include lots of hardware inside the box. Apple redesigns everything for almost every new gen laptop. PC makers redesign as little as possible.
