She's like an 8 year old playing doctor at the playground. She has unbridled enthusiasm, uses lots of big words that she overheard adults using, and pushes all the other kids who make fun of her for pretending to be something she's not.
Every time Richard talks about closed-source phones being used to surreptitiously track users' movements, take photos, and listen in on their conversations he sounds like a madman. But he's right.
I agree, on a direct replacement vs labor cost comp these types of repairs are uneconomical. However when one considers the total systemic cost including dispoal/landfill/recycling/PCB pollution I think repair becomes a more feasible solution. Unfortunately manufacturers are mostly not required to incur/consider these tangential costs and so replacement is the most economically expedient solution.
There is wealth inequality but it roughly correlates to an effort and risk-tolerance inequality, outside of the typical exceptions like inherited wealth and some lucky hedge fundies.
The Galaxy S7 comes in two major flavors - the US version that sports the Snapdragon 820 and the international version that uses Samsung's Exynos 8890. In head-to-head tests the Snapdragon is noticeably slower with hours less of battery life (http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_s7_exynos_8890_vs_snapdragon_820_speed_test-news-17429.php). Apparently Samsung was required to use the Snapdragon in the US market for its CDMA support.
Interesting how it was all about her when Theranos was the best thing since slice bread but suddenly it's "we" in her statement yesterday even though she was the one specifically banned from the industry for 2 years.
If you have to exert effort to not appear elitist then you're an elitist so might as well own it. Back in the real world, Walmart's food prices are significantly below the supermarket chains and allow families to feed themselves with better quality food than what would otherwise be possible if they had to pay higher prices. The harsh realities of how poor feed themselves might not make for touchy, feel-good sentiments but it makes for full bellies.
As they say, there's always a silver lining...

So that you can replace it if the one that comes with the phone explodes on you.

Seems pretty high up in the sky to claim the drone was trespassing. I hope none of the local news helicopters happen to fly over her house.
Should read the fable, "Scorpion and the Frog".

When executed successfully you'll have an unprofitable market all to yourself.

Which is ironic considering the entire point of electric vehicles is to reduce emissions :)

You mean how the US Government subsidized the entire American automobile industry during the 2008 financial crisis?
On their thinkpad. It was an unmitigated disaster. They immediately went back to regular function keys on the next generation.

Specifically for Marissa Mayer, the Peter Principle.
I try not to be elitist about this sort of thing
