    Write clients with the capability to provide the checksum of arbitrary byte ranges, then check these range checksums against the checksums of files with the same name/size/full checksum from other clients on the network.

    Pretty simple, actually. It sort of falls apart with different names/bitrates, though :P

    Well, versions of Windows from when SOVIET RUSSIA existed weren't much more than poorly designed, seizure-inducing, EGA hacks. I guess you could say "In SOVIET RUSSIA, seizures induce Windows 1.01!" I feel sorry for the epileptics. :P

    I hate to reply to myself, but:

    "Of the 129 drives that functioned, 69 still had recoverable files on them and 49 contained "significant personal information" -- medical correspondence, love letters, pornography and 5,000 credit card numbers."

    So I suppose they're saying there were 102 cards/drive. Sounds fishy to me.

    Actually, there were 158 drives, so the average comes out to about 31 cards per disk.
