  1. A dead brick, gimme the 7135 on Lust After The Sony Clie NZ90 · · Score: -1, Flamebait

Yes, I want to sepnd $800 for a device that has a 5 hour battery life WITHOUT the backlight, a wasted compact-flash port, too big to fit into a holster OR pocket OR pda-case, because I'm a sony junkie.
Some people have something called balance. Like the Kyocera 7135, a work of art. Sony just throws shit on and doesn't know when to stop.
Sony R&D: "Hey, that's odd, I just noticed our pda doesn't perform laser surgery. Let's make one that DOES! We'll make the old models obsolete and sell this as a standard!"
    Sony PR: "Approved!"

The drivers exist without needing rewrites, DOS isn't emulated, it isn't all bloaty and slow and you can put passwords on shared network drives(UNLIKE XP HOME). Until I see something like "Doom III requires XP," I'm keeping 98SE/Mandrake.

There's a BUNCH of graffiti programs made for the Treo devices(First palms missing the area, sans the laptop-thingie), like NewPen, so it shouldn't be a problem.

  19. Philips on Sony Intentionally Crashes Customers' Computers · · Score: 1

I haven't seen a serious reply to this yet. Other than installing boot-sector viruses, this is as bad as copy protection can get. All we can hope for is for Philips to use their 1/2 ownership of the CD to PERMANENTLY revoke Sony's privelege to use the CD stamp logo on it and allow customers to return it without question, also having Sony claim COMPLETE liability for all damages caused. But what about the countless sound systems and CD players that can't play it? These systems are less intense than a computer and could actually have permanent damage. Sony, I have lost faith in you. This event alone(completing ignoring the artist herself) has made me begin a personal boycott against you. Any company that creates CDs with the intent to sabotage ALL computer users should be dealt with to the fullest extent of the law. I don't care HOW much revenue is lost to pirates, assuming and treating all your customers like criminals is NO way to conduct business.

  24. Re:Not so much, really on Sony Crushes UK PS2 Mod Chip Developers · · Score: 1

Console people make the majority of money on the media sold. To accomplish this they charge a premium to produce the CDs or DVDs, say $5. So, for every $50 you spend on GTAIII, Sony already made $5 from Take2 Interactive. That's how the NES and SNES were so successful. Nintendo cartridges had the same price, so they made money, even if a game bombed on store shelves. The rest of that $45 goes to publishers, be it Sony themselves, or Square, etc.

By copying games, Sony gets nothing, well... maybe the game you play required the developers to buy a PS2 Dev Kit and minor licensing fees, but those were paid for 2 years ago for most companies!

It's really unfortunate how people claim it's designed solely for illegaly copying movies just because it offers the most options.
