I just bought one of these, and it works well on windows. But it's not a certified Bluetooth device. It uses the chipset, but in a proprietary way, so they can only talk to their own transmitter.
However, I contacted their (quite good) tech support and received this reply: ...the device will detect as a A2DP-compatible bluetooth
device and will pair with devices that support this standard. If you
don't have such a device then the wireless USB transmitter that comes
with it is required. No driver is needed for Windows because it
configures using generic USB audio drivers that are built into Windows. Now
we've done no testing under, Linux but if Linux also has generic USB
audio drivers then it should work.

I fiddled with it for a while, and did get an a2dp device recognised, but still haven't managed to get it to work.
Anyone else get these to work on Linux, post a howto would you?

Oil change, carburetor, clutch: all obscure arcane technical terms to me. I'll get around to learning some day, but that's the point. Most people have no intention of ever learning anything about computers but still expect to be able to use them, often for some vague purpose they've heard about on Oprah, and them blame the computers/geeks when they don't understand something, can't do something, try to do something but actually do something else...etc. And to top it all, many of those people are resolutely proud of their lack of ability. I think the real reason so much emphasis goes on expensive geewizz technological solutions to problems that already have perfectly tenable non-technlogical solutions, and often at the expense of those latter solutions, is that it's a lot easier for the people in charge of those decisons to skim a few million off the top of an overinflated program budget than it is to grab it out of the paycheques of police(wo)men.
