Of course, since I now switch between Mac OS X and Windows, I do hit it a lot more by mistake now...

Metroid Prime Hunters on the DS has a "find players of the same rank as me" setting in its WiFi mode, so I guess Nintendo could implement something like that with the Wii. I still lose all the time in MP:H, anyway, though.

I've gone the same way: I've given up entirely on running a game PC, instead using an iMac for work and a GC&PS2 for games. It's simpler, the games are higher quality and I haven't had to worry about a game not running on my hardware. It's also meant I play a much larger range of game genres, rather than being so tied to FPS/RTS.

While I think that is unfortunately probably true for the review score, the question the gamers want answered is "how fun is it?"

I've been finding game reviews increasingly irrelevant. I still like Edge's, but sites like Gamespot and IGN are generally pretty useless for figuring out whether a game is fun or not. I often go by the internet community's response: frequently random forum posters make far more insightful points than reviewers.

I haven't had any problem with plus.net in the past three years - connection speed has always been good, tech support reasonably helpful (not just reading from a script) and I've had maybe 12 hours downtime total in those three years, mostly late at night back when they did a round of network upgrades.

They give you a static IP and don't mind if you run a mail/web server on it - my local website was Slashdotted, maxing out my upstream bandwidth for a couple of days and they didn't complain.

But then, I was with Demon before them, so maybe I've just had my standards permanently lowered.

Who would people suggest as an alternative UK ISP if Plus.net's quality is dropping?
