wayback goes back further for pokey than for friend bear, but that doesn't necessarily mean you're wrong. This is the first time I've heard of friend bear, though.
eh... they probably had at least 6 or 7 power lunches on the subject. My guess is that people associate the 'hypo' prefix with allergies more than 'non'. Marketing is definitely not my thing.
Admittedly not an objective source, but their site states:
While some breeds of cats have been promoted as having less allergen than others, scientists that have tested this hypothesis have shown that all cats, regardless of breed, produce allergen. Allerca will produce the first cats that will not affect human allergies.
I didn't know this was being done anywhere in the metro. I know Roseville had a plan out on the table a couple/few years back, but I don't think it went anywhere. I'd love to see some of that over here in Eagan:)
Car & Driver had a big spread last month about the state of the art in Diesel engines. IIRC the low-sulphur Diesel fuel is coming in 2006. Hot on the heels of that will be some better particulate traps on the new Diesels that are supposed to address the problems you mentioned. I think the biggest problems was dealing with emptying said traps at regular intervals, but they were confident they could get to something like 60K miles before it was a problem.
IIRC, the license you speak of is only for the free (beer) version for the LK devs. If you pay for a license those restrictions are absent. I think Larry's reasoning was that if he was giving it away he didn't want to give it to someone trying to take his market and dollas away.
There's still one (exactly one) in Duluth, MN. The place keeps chugging along without any kind of upgrades/renovations. Still has the old school sign and everything.

I second this. If you don't feel up to writing out a big ol check, see if your employer (should you have one) will do payroll deduction for charitable organizations. That way your big lump sum gets split up 26 ways and you don't have to think about it.
My employer uses United Way for all this, but I'm able to specify exactly which 503c I want my money to go to. If you're lucky they might even match your contribution:)
Water pumps are very often driven by the timing belt.
I have never seen this in any American, French, German, or Japanese car that I've owned. In every case the water pump was driven by a serpentine or V belt off the crank pulley. The timing belt or chain is almost always a dedicated part underneath some sort of shield and totally separate from the accessory belt that drives your alternator, air conditioner compressor, power steering, etc.
Reminds me of the newsletter we got from the city claiming that the 'brand of the city' was one of the most valuable assets we had. mindboggling
It's just not the same without the strikethrough text

here's a freecache link in case the site gets slow (unlikely).
When I read 'dynosaur' I, for some reason, picture a T-Rex with really fly basketball shoes.
Yes, that's exactly what I thought. This thing sounds closer to a Death's Head, though.
Friend sent me this yesterday. My half-assed attempt at getting it running in wine failed, though.
Woah. The valves only need to open & close when you're shifting...
It's the intake and exhaust valves on the engine that use air instead of springs, not the shifting mechanism.

Am I the only one who thought this picture was some even stranger version of the goatse guy?
You need to read this book. This is just one of the subjects they discuss.

Oh look! It's Melt Disney Vorld!

man, if I had anything measuring 15 feet strapped to my bike, I wouldn't be surprised one bit if it fell off regularly.
Cripes. I can fart olives higher than 5500 feet.
This needs to go in the fortune file somewhere...
I don't mean to sound too harsh, but why does someone always have to be sued when something unexpected or strange happens?
No, wait, I'm a Quaker.
Rocket to the face then? That should about cover it.
Also a collosal waste of time, IMO.
8:30 is a colossal waste of time? Hell, I spend longer than that in the bathroom...

did you know they own Chipotle for instance?
If you find a Chipotle with a drive-thru, I'd love a map
I own 60% of those networks! I suppose you don't like tabloid newspapers either, eh?
