... sometimes I like to do something unbelievably inefficient. Not for production code though.
In college a teacher gave us an assignment to reverse a linked list. I made it recursive. My teacher said: "It's inefficient and that will only works with small lists, you will get a stack overflow". I said "Who cares, it is pretty", Still got an A.
The parent post is very informative, but won't be seen by a lot of people because it's AC and doesn't have its own subject line.
Quoting the AC:
17 USC 111(a): "Certain Exempted. The secondary transmission of a performance or display of a work embodied in a primary transmission is not an infringement of copyright if... the secondary transmission is not made by a cable system but is made by a governmental body, or other nonprofit organization, without any purpose of direct or indirect commercial advantage, and without charge to the recipients of the secondary transmission other than assessments necessary to defray the actual and reasonable costs of maintaining and operating the secondary transmission service."
So the law is re-transmitting the broadcast is okay if it's done by a non-profit.
Note this is only about re-transmitting *broadcast* TV, which was already being sent out to everyone for free.
So, a non-profit,in theory, could deliver broadcast TV only charging for the maintenance of the antennas/servers/internet used for delivery? Interesting...
It was a nightmare, it just wasn't designed for it.
IBM PC's were.
I had an A2000 and it was simple. I bought a GVP board and a SCSI drive with a ton of space (120MB). It wasn't that hard. I did it myself and all I had worked with before was a C64. I still have that Amiga although the 1084S is acting weird.
This. Crazy fast updates (had android p just 3 hours after Google announced the release) great hardware, camera is ok. The 3d camera attachment is great.
At work we have 3 Spectrometers with integrated computers. One uses MSDOS with a PATA drive and a floppy. A pain when the HD dies, have one of those flash drive->floppy drives ready for when it breaks (not touching it if its working). Another with a weird Windows 2000 Embedded that it's impossible to find, and another with XP. They are too specialized and only upgraded by the company. Also new ones go for 100k or something, so unless they blow up they stay as they are.
I would love if they added AR (augmented reality) options. Maybe every once in a while have dragons of UFOs flying around, or maybe a gremlin on the wing
Are you sure it was a QNX demo or the Amiga DE SDK based on TAO intent OS? I still have the Amiga SDK manual for that OS and probably the DVD is hidden somewhere around my house. I actually liked that OS.
Maybe the Sprint version. The unlocked one works ok and everything updated. Now running the oreo beta without problems. Btw there is only one app, the camera one, rest is stock clean android.
I really like the phone. Camera is ok. Never used the headphone jack. Dont care about waterproofing. I thought it was overpriced now at 400 is perfect. A solid titanium block with stock android. Reminds me of my favorite iPhone, the iPhone 4.
Most hospitals are operational AFAIK, they have priority for getting electricity from the power company. Diesel supply is good now and the lines at gas stations are gone. I have been about 2 months without power, water comes and goes. Thank god I bought a military power generator years ago and it has been working flawlesly. Those things are awesome. I'm planning to buy a backup as soon as this mess gets better.
Yeah, didn't enjoyed the Borderlands either. Wonder why there is no mention of any of the BioShocks. Other than the Portals or Serious Sams (and maybe Dishonored) Bioshock is better than anything on that recommended list.
There is RemObject Elements. It compiles C#/Swift/Delphi and soon also Java to Net/IOS/Java/MacOS/Windows/Linux executables. The windows/linux compiling was is new. Is really cool stuff.
From what I read it actually does all that. You can 'apt-get install '. At least that what I understood from reading this. I think its kind of cool, like a "reverse WINE".

like this one just a residential version (not costing over 2K). Don't think the iRobot one would climb a slope.
Did you ever try to add a hard disk to an Amiga?
No.

Obviously peanut paste. Now what do we do with toothpaste?
There is no such thing as soy milk... it's soy juice..

... I got excited for a moment because a new Command and Conquer was coming out.
...and it was all done in the 1950s. Search for Doctor Sergei S. Bryukhonenko.

Check the weird stuff in youtube.

I don't get it.
... specially those scientist living there warming the place, if they moved out it would obviously cool down again.

... (or won't) after all he hasn't been to a trial yet, just accused. That might be true or not, but he already spoke about it on November. He wont pardon him.
..or X-men, so is a 50/50 chance of zombie apocalypse or mutant powers, I say go for it.
...that the dingo would not eat the baby.
I really just want a dumb TV. No android, no apps, no speakers just inputs.
and be done with it. RemObjecs Elements compiles Swift/C#/Oxygene(Delphi-lile language) to ios/windows/java/mac.
