It doesn't discuss OS specifics, but rather general skills on how to be a good admin, run a good helpdesk, etc. A very good book. I recommend it to any sysadmin.
The Men's Health magazine website has some really good workouts - with weights/equipment and without. They have workout directions you can print and videos you can download to your iPod.

As a former high school teacher in the States turned IT guy (not K-12 education), I can wholeheartedly agree with this poster. The problem, as he summarizes, is political.
I am sure 'state contracts' really tie the hands of school IT folks who have a clue, but no permission to try something not on the 'approved' list.
and here is Carter from the 1981 State of the Union address:
In the area of accidental injury control, we have established automobile safety standards and increased enforcement activities with respect to the 55 MPH speed limit. By the end of the decade these actions are expected to save over 13,000 lives and 100,000 serious injuries each year.
My org is a WP shop. We are also heavily invested in Novell's NetWare, eDirectory, and ZENworks. I'm excited by the prospect of a native WP! With OO.org to handle occasional Word documents (worst case: Crossover office/Wine/etc.), I could actually see switching to Linux on the desktop.
No more viruses, spy/adware, Bonzi Buddies, or the other million annoyances that go along with Windows. (I know, we would get a new and exciting batch of annoyances for SuSE.)
I agree with many posters saying Corel screwed the pooch last time. Here's hoping they don't do it again.

who discovered this particle? If so, we might need to watch out for a Resonance Cascade.
A stance of neutrality is still the best.
And certainly the most profitable.
Radmind.

Bureaucracy sucks.
Yeah, it worked well for all those James Bond villians.
Why haven't you called me?
Wow, you're not bitter, are you?
But with a 4-digit Slashdot ID, you probably have the right to be. :)
Yes, except for the fact it wasn't Reagan. It was Carter.
This is from Carter's speech accepting the 1980 Democratic Presidential nomination:

I was thinking the same thing. Of course, it won't work without the Douglas-Martin Solar Receptor Screens...
I use spell check a lot, especially when posting here.
Why? No one else does. :)

Mystery solved
I've met many DP/IS/IT workers who should be doing something drasticly different.
Ironic and funny - to me, anyway - I originally misread this sentence as:
I've met many DIPSHIT workers who should be doing something drastically different.
Khaaan!
Apple has a program called Powerschool.
This might fit your needs.
My friend Neal made the observation: wouldn't it be cheaper and just as effective to offshore the CEOs, leaving the jobs here?

personal flight would single handedly start the "random house crash" epidemic
...followed closely by a huge increase in the number of personal injury lawyers specializing in "random house crash" cases.
Is LaTeX or one of the other prertty TeX front ends available for Mac?
Yes. I think the best is Texshop.
Every other geek's Star Trek wishlist:
1) Seven-of-Nine
2) Holodecks (see #1)
3) Faster than light travel
4) Shuttles that levitate
5) Replicators
6) Teleportation
..
...
9,472,381,478,471,832,741,592,158) Communicators
And that would be bad because...
...Windows ME? XP Home?
This is the first thing I thought of, too. Scary!
