    Consumers and small innovators get burned badly already, but large corporations seeking government protection from competition have a "gentleman's" agreement (defensive portfolios and cross licensing) to not cause each other severe harm. Sometimes you see saber rattling like the Oracle/Google conflict, but that is just theater as they collude on how certain markets will be split between them.

    Who did you hear this from, a guy in a bar? Give us some details man, inquiring minds want to know. Wikipedia says Seagate is talking about a combination of patterned media and HAMR, but both technologies appear to be years into the future.

    My Playstation 3 came with the same crappy Spiderman disc and a coupon for some "selected" free Blurays which included "300" (aka, "the crapfest continues"). You would think they would throw at least one adequate movie in there as a showcase, but no.

    I watched the DVDs of the very first Popeye episodes. The DVDs have a warning about non-PC content. In the first few episodes you see over the top offensive depictions of various ethnic and racial groups ending in the brutal beating of said groups by Popeye.

    It was like clockwork, one group per episode. The Betty Boop pilot had blacks, then the following episodes had Mexicans (slothful/drunk/knife carrying), then Native Americans (big nose, feathers, saying "how"), and on and on. The 1930's was a different era in the USA for sure.

    So the time frame is only over 5 years? Cars can and do last longer than that. Also the comparisons are against the non-hybrid equivalent (Camry Hybrid v Camry, Fusion Hybrid v Fusion). What did they compare the Prius to since it does not have a conventional equivalent?

    I agree TLC has become a total crap wasteland, but TLC is a Discovery company just like Discovery Channel, Animal Planet and Science Channel. It's just a different orifice of the same company.

    You are confused. 47% payed no federal income tax. But they did pay 15% federal payroll taxes split between employer and employee, which does not apply to income over $105K so that's a break for the well off. There is also state income tax, state and local sales tax, and property tax.
