I don't think this is fraud because they're not forcing anyone to pay the fee. All they're saying is that possibly someday they may enforce a license at cost X, so why not purchase it now at cost Y? Basically just misleading advertising.
Then she found someone she liked that had a bunch of albums on there. Except for the good song from each album.
I noticed a few times, but then I noticed that said good songs were on the Best Of cd. Apparently if a song is on two CDs they remove it from one album but keep in on the other.
Or the time Peter was fighting the Chicken who gave him a bum gift certificate. At first it was just funny. Then got stupid pretty quick. But after it developed it was frickin' hilarious.
I think too many of you are looking at Fester's comments as "iTunes doesn't give you enough choices..."
The angle I got from it is that Fester/Microsoft is upset that it isn't open. Microsoft want's access to the iTunes service, that is what Microsoft considers open.
In Microsoft press speak, open products can use other people's services. Windows Media Player can use iTunes services, iTunes can use WMP services, etc.
Of course we all know the way Microsoft works is quite the opposite. They just want iTunes to be open until Microsoft can deploy their own music service, at which time they'd boot iTunes and take over. ala Windows Messenger vs. AOL.
A little off topic, but looking for a new job, and I noticed that a few places around here are looking for rtLinux programmers. Other than rtLinux, what are good Linux embedded systems?
Cedar Point is one of the nicest amusement parks in the world. It is clean, they have a lot of good rides, the audience is very well behaved, and the lines are short (in relation to other theme parks). Last two years I went during the weekends of fall, and on Sunday we were able to ride every ride on the park twice in 4 hours.
Reading all these posts I see that people think the reason that DVDs are not pirated is because of their size and time to take to download.
I don't see it that way at all. Rather I see DVDs offering you alot more for your money than music CDs, to the point where we don't feel like we're being ripped off.
Let's see our options: 20$ for an audio CD or 20$ for a DVD with a movie, audio commentaries, behind the scenes, etc, etc. I think the reason is clear.
The reason for this is because in the prequels the Jedis and Siths have been fully trained in swordplay.
But in the second trilogy you have Vader, who is half machine, Obi Wan, who is old and arthritic, and Luke, who never learned swordplay from a Jedi academy.
Since, in EP1, we had young, active Jedi fully trained in swordplay he got Ray to choreograph what Lucas thought would be the greatest Saber fight of all time. Thats his opinion, though.
Oh yeah, that's quality screen writing. There was good stuff in Spider-Man, but the Goblin's and MJ's dialogue in particular wanted me to pull out my teeth. It was much more painful then the Anakin/Padme scenes.
Oh yeah, I love how people say "Viruses won't affect us, unless you run as root!"
Are you telling me, then, that a virus that deleted every file on your filesystem that was owned by your UID or GID would not be annoying? On my webserver all my important files are ofcourse owned either by me or my group, and if a 'virus' or 'maliscous script' erased all those files or tampered them I would be pissed.
It doesn't take root access to cause some kind of damage.
Maybe I should change my user information to reflect that I'm not in college...
>I've worked for eFront less than two weeks.
And what is your point? I made a simple little news update for people who cared to let them know that you are now an employee. And since you verify it then when why do you act like what I said was bad?
>Perhaps you should take some reading >comprehension classes (since you're still in >college).
This is why I don't read your site anymore, Lowtax. You insult your own fans. I once emailed you letting you know that I thought your quality was slippy, and I got a two word response: "Buh bye". And oh boy, has your quality slipped since then. This is all my opinion, obviously other people think you are funny.
>I whined about how the ad market is shit and how >advertisers fail to understand basic online >advertising concepts.
I can read between the lines, Lowtax. You whine about not getting paid, you whine about how ad networks don't work, but then you whine in February saying you're going to quit because you're not getting paid. How can you even write those articles about advertisers failing and then whine about quiting because you don't get paid?
No one deserves 13k a month to do webpages, and you're insane to even start whining when you didn't receive it. No shit people didn't get money for websites when people were asking for money than I do after finishing Engineering school. I guess everyone likes Free Beer.
I would never drive or be a passenger of a car that is running my own firmware.
Never.
...They're actually going on tour.

I wish I invested. I don't care if their accusations are meritless; stocks don't raise or fall based on truth.
In the future, when a penny stock starts making loud noises and loud accusations I will invest. What's to lose when the stocks are so low to begin?
What kind of RFID is this?
For most RFID tags to work you have to be a few inches from the scanner. It's very hard to locate people this way.
So he rags on C and C++. Yeah, lets all move to Java.
The interviewer should ask him what the Java machine was written in.

Goto a command prompt / xterm and ping or nslookup any host. Anything that doesn't exist.
For example:
ping fjdklsajfdsa.fdjklsafjdsa.com

So if Apple builds a school it's OK. If Microsoft builds a schook it's BAD.
Get over it.
At least some people have a better chance at getting a better education.
Even if Apple is faster than Wintel, the Price:Performance ratio is horrible for Apple hardware and software.
I'd like to see Apple spec that.
Hey, we're not tools.
Just because some people boycott a company for a certain reason doesn't mean everyone on Slashdot does.
Think a little.
They don't have 16 coasters, unless you count the kiddy rides.
They probably have 6 "real" coasters that are worth waiting in line.

Lucas explained this on the extra EP1 DVD..

Written better?

Maybe I didn't get enough sleep last night...
But DSL is just a twisted pair using already existing copper wire, on old telephone infastructure, so this is nothing new.
Maybe the digital cable part is new, but not the DSL part.
djroute66 writes "How do I get slashdot.org's main page while trying to look as intelligent and suave as possible?"
It's not common for people to have a few mule characters, whose sole purpose is to store and hold items.
Blizzard hopes that if they double the stash size then half of the mule characters are removed.
