Ok, so here's what ya do. Empty some of our land fills into New Orleans, then use the city as target pratice for our Military to level the city. This should add a good 2-3 feet to the city. Then fill it in with whatever other crap we can gather up, top off the last 4-5 feet or so with rocks/dirt and what have you, then build ontop of that.
The good.. we lower down some of our landfills, city is now above sea level, lots of jobs for rebuilding.
The bad.. the city is known as a the 'landfill city'.. but then agian, that's not really a new name for it either, in fact I think it would be a bit cleaner even with all the trash 15 feet down.;)
The parent was marked funny, but I've done the same. I don't use Windows anymore, and I went to Linux because I got tired of 'fixing' it all the time. In the last year, I have been telling more and more people "if it's a Windows problem, I don't even want to know about it". I will help them (for free) to setup a Linux desktop and give them an intro into how to use it.
No why would you go though all that trouble of talking to 'em? Just setup a quick dial-up connection with a 1 second redial and around 15000 retries and goto bed.:) who uses their modem these days anyway?
I had one of these SyQuest drives also, the same one as you. I bought it becuase of all the 'click of death' problems with the Zip drives and figured I'd have more space. Well it outlasted me, I bought a CD-R (1x write, woohoo!) and sold it to my friend with all my carts. About 3-4 months later it cought fire on him. Got my CD-R just in time.:)
*sigh*, why does it seam latly that the very-pro-americans seam to be more at home with Hitler these days? "We'll take over the world becuase we are bigger and stronger then you". Does anyone else hope we have a civil war soon before the other nations figure out if they get together they could surly kick are asses? I see nothing good coming in the future for us, it can only get worse from here with people like the above in power controlling this country.
Atack the garilla with garilla warfare... hrmm, how about blowing up a natation icon.... like a big building, using the garilla's own weapons... like an airplane maybe?
Before everyone jumps down my back on this, this comment above is basicly what has brought this on our country. I'm not some anti-american who jumped for joy when this happen, this was a sad day for our country, but there comes a time when we must stop pointing fingers and start to look with in. We *are* the big bully that can't be beat up easy, so peoople are going to make a stand in dirty ways that they can.
Anyone remember when your parents used to say 'treat others as you wish to be treated', I think our goverment needs to take a step back and figure out that we arn't the center of this world. Borders are starting to become less and less clear with things like the Internet and it's time we start to learn how to 'play well with others'.
"It's appalling," said Rep. Bob Goodlatte, R-Va. "It cannot be allowed to stand that another nation can impose its values on the U.S. and make it a trade issue."
And damn right too, it's our job to force OUR values on other countrys, who ever gave the idea to the world that this was a two way street here?!
Wouldn't this be mail fruad. I would contact your local police department, if they don't help, FBI (since it went over state lines), shit just keep going up and up. I'd even go as far to bid on every item this guy trys to sell and after you win, leave negitive feedback. If he's got a large positive feedback, you'll atleast kill the account.:)
First few times I tried it was allready having SQL errors so here's the text:
Prestige 2000W VoIP Wi-Fi Phone
The Prestige 2000W VoIP Wi-Fi phone, compatible with IEEE 802.11b wireless standard, is a perfect solution for Voice over IP applications. It allows users to make or receive phone calls as long as they are in the coverage of IEEE 802.11b or 11g wireless Access Points. By using the Prestige 2000W, users no longer have to pay expensive communication fees and can enjoy the convenience of wireless mobility.
The brand new application is developed to support open standard SIP (Session Initiation Protocol), which interoperates with major SIP-based call servers, IP-PBXs and various VoIP client devices. It is not only an ideal alternative for ITSPs (IP Telephony Service Providers) to deploy their VoIP services; it can also be the wireless handset, which is applied in corporate IP-PBX centric VoIP environment.
The Prestige 2000W is very easy to use and configure. It allows users to configure with LCD screen menu or web browser. Meanwhile, with the smart auto-provisioning mechanism, ITSPs can easily deploy and manage the VoIP services. Easy-to-use and convenient, the Prestige 2000W delivers high quality voice functionality in a cost-effective way.
Benefits
Open Standard SIP v2 Support The call control protocol of the Prestige 2000W is based on SIP v2 (Session Initiation Protocol version 2, RFC 3261) open standard, which is interoperable with major SIP-based call servers, IP-PBXs, and other standard SIP-based client devices.
Mobility with IEEE 802.11b Wireless Standard Compliance The Prestige 2000W is compliant with the IEEE 802.11b standard and interoperates with any existing 802.11b or 802.11g wireless AP and gateway. It may be used as a cordless handset for residential users or for business users in an office environment. The small form factor of the handset is easy to transport and allows users to place VoIP phone calls in public 802.11-based hot spots.
High Voice Quality with Low Communication Costs The Prestige 2000W is capable of tagging features that support a service provider?s QoS (Quality of Service) planning, such ToS (Type of Service), and DiffServ. It allows gateways or central side equipment to identify and prioritize voice and data traffic. By supporting G.711 and G.729 voice compression technology, the Prestige 2000W effectively reduces bandwidth consumption caused by voice traffic.
Enhanced Power Saving Design for Extended Standby and Talk Time With an improved power-saving design, the Prestige 2000W can be used for a relatively long period of standby and talk time. With an extended life for each recharge cycle, the Prestige 2000W is available where and when you need it.
Direct IP-to-IP Call and Ad-hoc Intercom Mode Support(Optional) By configuring a remote IP address in the built-in phone book, the Prestige 2000W provides a direct IP-to-IP call feature when there is no intermediate SIP proxy server available in the network. The Prestige 2000W can also establish an 802.11 ad-hoc network (computer-to-computer network without Access Point), which allows users to use the handsets as wireless intercoms. Features

Isn't this what they do to us anyway? Honestly, look at the 'packages' they give you and tell me how many stations you actualy watch? 3-4 maybe in the first package, another 1 or 2 in the next one up, damn now I need package 3 and 4 just to get the other 3 stations I like. Ok now I'm paying for 200+ stations when I watch... maybe 15 stations? And I'm paying $150/mo for this?
Let's get real, 'adding programing that the customer doesn't want' has been around since cable and got worse with the dish.
Allthough this could go both ways. I wonder how many lines of code under the GPL is in MS's software. It'd think it's more likly that MS has used code that was GPLed then people using buggy MS code in their open source projects, now we just need to find it.:)
Opera has a nice feature... 'reload page every 5 seconds'... damn, still can't get though to SCO's website, maybe if I just let it keep trying to reload over and over till it finaly comes up it will work faster!

When the hype of the PDA phones came out I went out and got one. I used to laugh that my phone would 'crash' once in a while and I'd have to 'reboot my cellphone'. Then my laughing went away as I started to get pissed at this phone crashing.
Fastforward to today.. I went back to using a 'plain' cell phone, or as close to one as I could get... today it crashed on me and I had to reboot it. I'm finding this happens more and more latly. Looking back at time, I never thought a 'phone would crash' and used to laugh about it with friends 'cell phones running microsoft, having to be rebooted'... sadly the day is here and it's not even running microsoft.. anyone got a landline or know where a payphone is?

Ok besides the fact that in the end, your tax money just went to google.. a good thing..
There is *NO* news source out there that you could say does not have a 'side' to a story. No matter how you say how something happen, there is someone else saying 'but my story is better', and so on. Thus why we have that whole free speech thing.. To say that the BBC can't have an ad up just becuase you don't 'agree' with it, is what fighting 'big media' was suposed to be about.
The point comes down to, it's an ad on google. MANY MANY different links are right there, for the user, to click on. And google of all places is about the best thing for them to put it on. Google, puts right up, and infornt.. "hay I'm an ad, paid for, by some company". You might even have a glimps of a change of this agument if it was a banner ad, tricking the user, or a normal link.
They did a good thing with your tax money (google rocks), and they are getting 'their side' out to the public, being wrong or right. If this was a topic yourself felt was 'under known in the news', you'd be happy for the extra bit of coverage.
Yeah I hate it when people read something and take it right as fact... like slashdot news. I dropped the search into google, and honestly only found a few bbc links in the seraching I did.
