I saw one of these machines on the news. They do allow for a write-in. When "write in' was selected, a qwerty keyboard would pop up on the screen, and that would let you enter in the candidate.
Not only that, but it's a damn good TV app, if you have a TV card. It's one of the apps that I really miss since I switched to linux because of its excellent deinterlacing capabilities.
I actually am using a 1600x1200 screen right now, and have been for quite awhile. This is just personal preference, but I don't happen to mind the highly aliased interface under Doublesize. I never really cared much for a pretty interface, as long as it is usable. Granted I'm not a huge fan of the bitmapped interface as an idea, but the underlying interface of XMMS/Winamp happens to be pretty usable for me.
Melissa Hart's a geek too? I'm in love!
or he could just use something polymer-based, but they'd have to be 6 times as long

Yeah, but we're going for OSS software, here. Trillian and Winamp (and possibly those 2 others) aren't OSS, just free (as in beer).
There was a Rest In Peace joke?
So they got ahold of Voyager's Warp Reactor. So what?
"It Stinks!"
don't forget the thousand K-Cars and treehouses!
I read that as Super Monkey Ball.
Wait... Super Monkey Ball's been released for GBA?
Well, KWord seems to be handling the Lord of the Rings just fine...
