I visited Japan during the initial H1N1 scare and even then it was a fairly pleasant experience. I was concerned about missing our connecting flight from Tokyo to Osaka but we were processed and had our luggage within 20 minutes of disembarking and checked in 10 minutes later. We even managed to get a plastic bottle of water air-side. It was taken from us, put through a sniffer machine and very politely handed back.
I wasn't looking forward to the new passport/fingerprint restrictions, but they were all done in a typically low-key Japanese way and I didn't have a problem with any of it.
But it requires root access to install updates (keep your system updated!) and software typically, does it not?
Actually, no. I run Fedora Core 11 at home and it doesn't require a password to apply updates. I can't remember the last time I had to enter root password.
while the worst 'nix problem is typically something that can only be exploited while the attacker is standing on his head, drinking a glass of water, and whistling "Yankee Doodle".
Damn, I wondered what that guy was doing in our server room! Brb...
I'll just point out here that Linux users generally do not run as Admin-God on their machines, so while they could still bork their own user account it becomes that much more difficult to compromise the entire machine.
One was the comment on the video, "clearly the malibu driver was at fault - he should have given way" and also, did anyone else notice the Nissan Commercial in the videos to the right? The one about Front independent suspension?
That may be so, but I would hazard a guess that putting a P4 in a netbook would run much hotter and deliver significantly lower battery life. The Atom 270 just hits a sweet spot for most people regarding power/battery life. I can play AVIs and do video Skype just fine on my 900HA and it 'feels' just as fast as my Core 2 desktop.
At least you probably won't get raped in Chicago - according to those stats you linked to.

It'll make those long winter nights coming up really whistle past!
Just like the Theft act prevents Theft.

Heck checking your laptop is nothing, they can probe up your ass if they really want to!
This is truly scary. Site owners are forced to install this plugin in their own browsers to see what others are writing about their site.
But then they'll be successful in their primary objective, which is self-perpetuation and a larger budget next year.
If you launched, then spun round and re-entered the dock hitting hyperspace at the same time, you appeared, docked, at your destination.
Saved all that tedious trading until you could buy lots of weapons etc.
Didn't they try this in New Orleans a couple of years back?
You cannot be serious about that remark!
I would want that sound that the USS Enterprise makes as it whizzes through space...
Everyone is out today snapping up the new iPods. Me included.

Any, repeat any DRM will inconvenience legitimate users far more than copyright violators.
Yes agreed, but at least if someone gets hold of the card details they can't use it.
And anyway, 000 is really Australia's 999 number!
How can a place have no weather? Every single place on the surface planet has weather of some description all the time.
My mouse will work with Windows?
Finally!
When the porno mags will get hold of an idea like this.
A man a dam a plan madman.
A fold-less centerfold :)
