so instead of paying 25K to the gov he pays 25K (minus a deduction for the interest) to the bank? what's the difference, you'r still out 25k (or there abouts)?
but a 100$ profit is laughable, esp if they had to spend any time at all to get said system.
Some people prob made less than minimum wage for their time camping for the system, posting it on ebay, dealing with prank bidders and shipping said unit.
I actually saw a few PS3's in stores last weekend (20 gig units) that people didn't seem to eager to buy (one was in target for at least 6 hours). On the other hand i have yet to see a wii in a store.
I thought about getting the ps3 but it felt silly to get it for just one game i'm sure i'll get one next year
and how many FPS? the post i replied to said they were running at 60 FPS... that's what i question the most (but then RR may be since they dumbed down the graphics from RR on the 360)
it's not like developing under linux on the ps3 will allow for 360 and wii development (and it hardly enables ps3 development thanks for the restrictions sony puts on the platform)
>but to further elaborate on the value of checking references
the problem with this is that a lot of companies disallow the giving of references other than 'he worked here from date x to date y' (and all references has to go tough HR even for this basic info) so the only references that you can really check are friends of the prospect... which will always be positive references.
that's just 25$ an hour (assuming you can actually get 6 hours of sleep in the conditions...) which is still not THAT great in many areas and doesn't take into account otherexpenses and opportunity costs of camping a store for 3 days (and 3 days is the low end of camping, some were out for a week).
i wonder how many of them will really sell for that. I predict a lot of auction headaches with bogus bids and people not paying.
BTW camping out for 3 days for 1300$ isn't that great... it comes out to about 18 bucks an hour (not taking into account the time it will take to sell on ebay). I sure as hell can afford to 'not a get a ps3'
1) I'm sure they will provide a way of clearing this data... that's why i said if the person FORGETS to clear their info from the ipod
2) getting a receipt doesn't do much good since they already charged you
3) this would likely fall outside the credit card protection since the customer didn't take reasonable care to protect their info and left it on the ipod, and yes that is an exception in the visa/mastercard protection plans.
Or even better someone sells their ipod and forgets they have it enabled to buy music wirelessly on their CC until they get a big bill from the new owner buying music.
>1) You paid for your own interview. Never do that.
exactly i don't see why anyone would ever spend 3K to interview for a job. If you really are that good make them pick up the tab, if they aren't willing to do so then it's a good bet they aren't interested in you.
My current job told me early on they wouldn't pay to fly me up for an interview so i told them no thanks... 2 months later they had not found anyone as qualified as me and changed their mind.
>It's cheaper and easier for me to watch the latest episode of Battlestar Galactica on SciFi rather than wait two weeks for iTunes.
2 weeks for BSG ep's? If i remember corectly last seasion they were available the next day (BSG is the only reasion i started using itunes since i gave up my dvr i had to watch ep's somehow and firday night isn't allways the best time for me to watch tv)
>I guess he's in the USA
I didn't have to guess. Texas is a dead giveaway...
hey you are the one suggesting that he put up house equity for a silly space ride and a tax break... I'm not sure I'm the one that needs a brain
hey i'm not the idiot who said that taking out a loan on his house to pay taxes was a smart idea, go bitch out the parent :)

>both the Xbox 360 and PS3 can play games at 1080p and some already at 60FPS,
Really? Can you name a game doing so? i was under the impression that ps3 developers were shooting for 720p because of the FPS hit they took at 1080P.
~he companies claim the site sells millions of songs without paying them 'a dime'
;)
bullshit i remember paying a dime for 10-100 songs from allfomp3
companies don't run it? most companies that do sql server development DO run it on the developers systems so they can develop.

what is this moon money you speak of...
>PS2 + Guitar Hero = $300.
129.99 (ps2 price) +79.99(gh2 with controller) =209.99
where the heck is your extra 90 bucks coming from?

by buying a computer manufactuer than is even more over priced and has customer service issues.
I guess Falcon is next
my fav is 'just IMHO, LCDs aren't the displays of the future' :D
well the 360 controller is wireless, putting a usb cord on it would be kinda pointless.
