Hey, Windows users: Use whatever you like. I don't give a fuck. If one of you decides that switching to the Mac is a good idea, it really donesn't make my preference of computers any better.
I'd agree, except for all of the Windows zombies out there sending out spam, trying to run COMMAND.COM on my Mac, etc. If we had fewer insecure Windows boxes out there, everyone's network experience would be much better, regardless of the platform used.

I don't know about killer, but I had just decided to get a $150 Shuffle once they came back in stock. But now that they have (a) dropped the price of the 4GB mini by $50 and (b) upped the estimated battery charge life from 8 hrs to 18 hrs, I suddenly have a new decision to make.
The Faramir backstory is apparently expanded on in the Extended Two Towers DVD (including more on Boromir). Dunno if it will address your specific concerns, but the FOTR Extended edition did much to improve Galadriel's character IMHO, so there's hope.
I interned for a summer at an Apple site in Campbell CA doing some graphic design, MM Director presentations, that kind of thing. We burned some out to CDs, back when that meant writing the data out to a Bernoulli disk or somesuch, then heading over to the washing-maching sized unit to try to create a test disk, then back to correct the formatting, etc, etc.
At any rate I remember trying out a test disk on one of the Macs at the end of the day, only the formatting was of course incorrect and the machine froze up. Upon rebooting, it tried to read the hosed CD, failed miserably and to my horror blasted out the Chimes of Death for all to hear.
The only thing worse than hearing the Chimes of Death is seeing a bunch of heads peering in over the cubicle walls to see which miserable intern had just caused the Chimes to sound....
They use XML files in the regular filesystem to store paths to image/music files, album/playlist data, etc. It's not an XML database in the Xindice sense of the term. The data files themselves are regular MP3/JPG/etc files.
There have been a few posts along the line of "is my ReplayTV worthless without the service"... but the article doesn't actually say that the service is going away, just that the assets have been sold to D&M. It's early days yet, but has anyone seen anything about their intensions? It's possible (maybe not likely, though) that the service and development will continue under the new owners.
Many went out and bought the items listed on the pages and came back on the day of the sale and price-matched to get the money back. That way they avoided standing on a long line early in the morning but the problem is, it depleted the stock of the sale items and people who were standing on the line weren't all too happy.
Then the correct response is not "trample first amendment rights of citizens"; it is to say "price-match policy is suspended for these special deals".
(When they made the announcement, they didn't specify who was providing the PVR technology... it could be "in-house" or perhaps they're leasing from TiVo or someone else.)
NEWS FLASH... I just did a news.google.com search, and found this article, which states they are already testing it in 2 markets, and hope to have it in 18 markets by year's end. It is $5-$10 per month for the PVR service, and you get the box at no extra charge!
Just to clarify...in Austin, it is $6/month for the box plus $10/month for the service (the box for DVR is the same price as the box for standard digital cable). Also, it is not licensed from Tivo; it is an in-house service running on a SA-8000 box. As such, it currently does not provide all of the services Tivo provides (since it is still release 1.0, basically).
They are approximately the right shape, though they don't feel particularly comfortable to me, but the fact that I can't rest my hand on it without clicking sucks.
I can certainly see where mouse preference is a personal thing, but just to make sure...
You do know the tension of the mouse click is adjustable on the bottom? I have a friend who could not use the mouse as shipped, but wasn't aware that the mouse click force was hardware adjustable.
I believe "KISS" is now a kind of "pseudo-format" used by ClearChannel. That is, several stations advertise themselves as "KISS-FM" but they have different actual call letters, and they all have similar playlists (I mean, more similar than all of the other ClearChannel stations).
And it's not surprising that your KISS actually was issued those call letters, since ClearChannel is based in San Antonio.
"It's a floor wax!"
"It's a dessert topping!"
"Tastes great...and just look at that shine!"
Didn't Jack Bauer already employ the "hoodie of invisibility" a couple of weeks (hours?) ago when sneaking onto the airplane?

You mean, like one of these?

My God! Those monsters!
It's like, how much more black could the Acer be? And the answer is none. None more black.
(Oh, and the true winner for ugly Apple products is this one.)
In fact, Apple already has plans for free Macintosh hardware...
It will cost only $499.

Ummm....they did. There's a difference between beta and "nightly" releases (yeah, "seed" isn't really "nightly", but it's as close as Apple gets).

Sorry, the best Apple rumor site these days is clearly this one.

You left out:
Do not taunt the Pioneer DVR-7000 DVD recorder.

IBM T220 Announcement: June 27, 2001 list price $22000.00
Apple Cinema HD Display: Apple Store Price $3499.00
You might make an argument that the T210 is vaguely in the same market as the Apple Cinema, but the T220? Come on.
macosrumors.com
Hmmmm, what could possibly cause Apple to label them as "rumor" sites?
