please, hear me out here. i'll probably never be moderated up like always, but here it goes.
folks at/. are getting free labor... and they're making money off people.
what i say is instead of buying the shirts off thinkgeek, we should email the designers if we want their shirts, and buy it off them instead. They put in the effort, they deserve the credit.
when we wear the shirts, we're doing free advertising for slashdot already, and we arent owning them anything in the first place. when we're wearing them, we're will to do the free advertising, but designers do deserve the credits for their efforts.
people are doing less reading these days and kid would rather sit home watch TV than go to their own libraries and use community computer labs for educational stimulations. here's a dialog i overheard the other day between the folks trying to figure out a way to change it for the better...
personally, i'm still unhappy with the fonts. truetype still has slight jagged edges. yes, i've read all the docs, and did all i could to "deuglify" them. to add a new font, i still have to go through the mkfontdir bullshit in the fonts directory. if this is a computer i'm running at home, that's one thing, but if it's the computer running at work, i wouldnt have the "luxury" to wasting all the company hours configuring things like "fonts". yes, i agree that kde has made it simpler, but i still find it a little slow on my PIII, 450MHz, 384MB SDRAM.
the printer i got, lexmark Z45 had a linux logo on the box saying that it's compatible, but it turns out that it's not supported.
i want to configure my mouse acceleration speeds. i configure them in kde, but when i run fluxbox, the configurations arent applied.
these are just little BUT crucial things.
another thing is the browser pluggins... it takes forever to configure them. btw, why isnt mplayer in the official debiabn unstable tree?
anyway... not here to flaimbait, but just want to share a few things.
"The site torrentse.cx recieved a cease and desist letter during the day of Wednesday, July 16, 2003 for copyright infringement. The entire website has been removed and will not return."
they're doing so much just to stop music and movie piracy all because it's related to money... and lots of money.. but we dont see them doing anything to stop guns. i know it's in the ammendment, but wtf.. personally i think society should really look at what's more important... i guess money's higher prioritized than lifes.
the script was still buggy when i used it. dont know about it now. basically if you're going to do a dual-boot (linux-win) system you HAVE to make a boot disk, but it doesnt write to the MBR properly...
you might need to make a copy of the/etc/fstab file (from cd-boot) into your post-install HDD.
pppoe-config is such a useful too that comes with it!
does anyone know how to completely disable windows file proection (WFP) on sp4? i've tried the same technique for sp3 and unfortunately it doesnt work. (i patched sfc.dll
he should just release the code on sourceforge... let people from every school use it within their networks... even in non-american universities... (because riaa's american?) let's just make a big fucking scene out of this.
oh the memories....
all we had to do was to kill 1 buffalo, and that was sufficient food... and we didnt need to waste ammo... gotta miss those hunting scenes
back in elementry school, we used to get on these oxen on the computer on the trail during lunch time...
now, we just spend our time getting off with these oxens in chat rooms at work during lunch time...
life is a cycle afterall...
check out these freeze-frames. slight spoilers...

the default firebird theme should be changed. honestly, even the one before v0.5 was better than the default one now....
other than that, i seem to be having problems installing extensions to v0.6 (on my linux partition), particularly the prefbar one.....
... and everyone will acknowlege "there is no dvd"... ... just my centropy replica in my machine.... ergo, vis-a-vis, concurrently...
