    I see so now we are working on the guilty till proven innocent system? Am i not in america? this is wrong no matter how you look at it. i cant believe they are able to get away with this

    does this mean that if i have used M$ office say, at my college, i am unable to contribute to open office, or some other office type project?

    this is incredibly stupid in my (uneducated) opinion. whats next, are we going to tell authors they cannot write books about a subject if they read a different book on the subject beforehand?
    fantastic, only people completly uneducated in a subject will be able to do anything in the field. this should make for some fantastic inovation!!

    yes, you can. infact, it is your responsibility to. this is america, we the people (through elected officals) are suppose to decide how we want to live, and what people are allow to do. what do you think laws are for? im not saying this is the way it always works, just the way its suppose to work.

    What I want is a global extremely-high-speed ad-hoc wireless data & voice network, where the only entry cost is a mobile phone (or newtork card or whatever). Devices communicate peer to peer, or routed via other people's idle devices. Remember there is no subscriptions, so don't expect to piggy-back on someone's paid for DSL bandwidth.

    Eventually they'll resort to shipping blank CDs to thwart copying, and expect you to just stare at the pretty CD jacket while pretending you're listening to it...

    I dont think so buddy! 'pretending you're listening to it' would require you to 'reproduce' the music in your mind, and we all know that buying the CD gives you no right to reproduce it! say, what about when your stereo reproduces the sound on it? i guess those things a criminals as well.

    I went through something like a drive every two years at almost no use.

    I believe in todays world, using a floppy drive once in two years could be considered excessive. other than for boot disks (which i usually use a cd for anyway) i cant remember the last time i used a floppy drive

    It seems to escape a lot of people that electrical outlets are far more plentiful than gas stations.

    While the idea is neat, it will not take off simply becuase of american culture, and it sounds like a moped.

    thats why they didnt call it a moped! do you think M$ buisness would be nearly as good if they called themselves money-grubbing monopilists? i think not, americans are easily tricked, if ford released a gass-guzziling monstrous SUV (if?) and called it the "echo-con 2004" it would sell well in the same principle
