Maybe you could try RTFA? I know it's a novel idea, and some may think it's unreasonable, expecting a person to wade through the whole articl.. err.. many pages... umm... lot's of paragrap... err.. the first sentence to find out who he is, but I don't think it's too much to ask. Ummm, but just so you don't have to go through all that work:
Edward James Olmos, the star of the new "Battlestar Galactica," has some advice for devoted fans of the 1970s sci-fi series: Don't watch the remake.
Now you're telling me that if I try and solicit any work from a client that happens to reside in Michigan that I'm going to get hit with a $250,000 fine?
Hmmm... if they're your clients then I would assume you've already got some sort of "business relationship"? In that case:
Sec. 2(h)...An e-mail is not unsolicited if the sender has a preexisting business or personal relationship with the recipient.
where:
(g) "Preexisting business relationship" means a relationship existing before the receipt of an e-mail formed voluntarily by the recipient with another person by means of an inquiry, application, purchase, or use of a product or service of the person sending the e-mail.
So you should be ok.
Of course now anybody you've ever used a service of, made an inquiry of, purchased from, etc, etc, etc, has a free ticket to spam you... interesting...
Fuel cells produce electricity without generating pollutants, through an electrochemical reaction that uses oxygen and hydrogen.
Hmm, call me sceptical, but I'd think it'll still generate waste...
The two ways they can distribute the fuel (I assume) is in a cartridge of some type which then gets thrown away when empty - which would be considered a pollutant right? Or in some sort of packaging which you then then use to refill your fuel cell - and the packaging of *that* then becomes a pollutant.
This is about one company looking at anothers user interface of a CAD program and making improvements to thier own software. Oh, and the EULA said something about don't reverse enginering this.
WHEW! Thank god you're around to summarise the whole article so succinctly. For a minute I thought I might actually have to RTFA. But who needs that with such a painstaking, well thought out, expert dissection available right here!?:P
Now that there is circular logic if ever I saw it.:) Companies don't have to spend much on IT stuff because it's cheaper. But why is it cheaper? - Maybe because:
a) companies aren't willing to spend much on it anymore... and
b) most of the companies who were willing to pay for it have now gone belly up.
Would be nice but I very much doubt it. This sort of attitude only hurts the more specialised, cutting edge companies. The already established, "reliable" places like MS will only gain from this, I'd guess, as people become less and less likely to "take a chance" on less well known products. (been like that for a while though hasn't it?)

... TiVo for radio?? Pfeh! In my day sonny you had to sit next to the radio, tape loaded and ready, hand poised over the record button, just waiting for that one song....erm... twenty miles uphill both ways in six feet of snow with your bare feet wrapped in barbed wire for traction all the while listening to the likes of Bananarama, Wham! or Milli Vanilli... Arrrgh!
The open-source development community is an international treasure and should be protected as such
Exactly! And what do you do with international treasure? You bury it away in some dingy, windowless room where no one will ever find it, without an visitors.... to prevent it from getting stolen, y'know.
Hence all OSS developers really need to be locked away in.... uhh ehrmm... oh, NM.
Moreover, where disinformation or misinformation exists, thoughtful citizens have a responsibility to draw attention to the problem, possibly even to provide information to counteract the bad data.
Oh no! I just hope no one finds out about slashdot or they'll have a field day!
Oh... hang on a sec... No... my mistake, I was thinking of the NYT.
This is the reason why those kooks annoy me so much; it's not that they beleive in a complicated, contrived scenario so much as they use the lack of proof for their delusion as proof of correctness. Making them, by definition, immune to logic or facts.
Exactly! I found Feynman's thoughts on this sort of thing, psuedoscience, etc particularly interesting (read: agreeable to me, cause I agree with them 100 %:) ). In particular Cargo Cult Science is a good read for anybody who hasn't already.
This is great news. I really enjoyed the whole trilogy. Maybe a bit slow to start with, but once you get into them it's a great read.
Finally (I hope) a good Movie (well, miniseries) about the red planet. (mission to mars anyone? blergh)
hmmm... A quick google reveals that Gale Ann Hurd also produced Virus, Armageddon along with the Hulk and T3 as the article says. Make what you will of that I guess...
But why would anyone want a monitor in their mirror at home???
Well, some people like their TV hidden when not using it (shut up in a cabinet, one of those deals that folds into a counter top, etc) and this takes that to the next level.
At least it's more useful than those TVs built into your kitchen appliances:)
