For the price of a GBA Flashcart anyways. There has been an excellent fan translation of Final Fantasy III for quite a while, a google of 'FF3 NES English" should yield results. Then just use the also excellent PocketNES on the GBA to load the game, and voila FF3 on GBA with save states and everything.

With titles like those under his belt, it's easy to see why the game industry would not be the same without him.
But seriously I'm a rabid fan of the books and am still able to enjoy the movies for what they are. I find that if you treat them as different subjects and don't force yourself into comparing one to the other, you will get more enjoyment out of both.
The port is based on the open source PC PSX emulator PCSX and plugins. The Porter has NOT released the source code despite repeated requests. Just FYI.
I'm not saying to love America, but dont NOT like it based on a work of fiction. Truth be told I live here and I have some problems with it, but by and large I love my country, the government could use some work, still not as bad as some people make it out to be.
Bowling for Columbine is mostly a work of FICTION. Some people do anything for notoriety. It's even sader when people accept things as fact without any thought to research.
GranTurismo was released years after the PlayStation's launch, I remember specifically as Sony used that game to hype the new " Dual Shock " controller (still used in slightly modified form on the PS2).
>The damn "oldies" stations play a better selection of 60s music than the "classic rock" stations do.
I believe this has to do with the fact the "classic" rock has hit the time barrier and has actually become the "oldies".
My old man used to complain about his 50's music being called 'oldies'.
30 years from now our kids will be listening to the 'classic rock' of System of a Down while we listen to such 'oldies' as AC/DC and Def Lepard. Such is time.
Iv'e been playing Miyamoto's games since '86 or so and have yet to see a 'bad' one. Just off the top of my head:
Donkey Kong
Mario Bros.
Super Mario Bros.
Super Mario Bros 3
The Legend of Zelda
Metroid
Super Mario World
Super Metroid
Zelda: A Link to the Past
Super Mario World 2
StarFox
Super Mario Kart
Super Mario64
Mario Kart 64
Zelda 64
Mario Sunshine
Zelda GC
Quite a resume` there. And i'm sure I'm missing quite a few too. NONE of those games are bad, and nearly all are considered classics or revolutionary. I mean if this was baseball he's pitching a perfect game. Any other developer who thinks Miyamoto is 'just targeting kids' needs to start realising that making a crappy game, and adding b00bz to sell it doesn't cut the mustard.
I had the opportunity to meet Miyamoto-san at this last E3, he was very softspoken and talked to me briefly, and offered me a handshake and an autograph. Shigeru is of a dying breed - he cares about the gamers and how the game plays, not just making sure they meet the Q4 sales quota's.
I believe there is _one_ xbox game that supports 1080i (and the homebrew Quake II port), most others just go for 480p due to memory constraints.
And the identical h/w was meant more for the console itself, you don't need to worry what video card someone has in thier PS2 or if thier GameCube's motherboard needs a new BIOS flash to play Zelda.
"If your game pushes too many polygons, you can't simply increase the minimum requirements."
And Mom and Dad gonna build a system? Doubt it, they do thier pricing at Dell.com;-) And lets be honest Parents / Non-geeks probably make up 90% of the market these days.....
A console (depending on which) will run you $150 - $200. 1/2 the price of the hottest PC video cards alone. There is no installing, no tweaking, put in the game and go. You simply cannot beat a console for ease of use. Not to say anything is wrong with PC gaming but Mom and Dad arent going to buy thier kid a $2000 PC when they can pick up a GameCube with Metroid for under $200, and it still looks *damned* good. When all ya need to worry about is 640*480 and identical hardware, life is much easier on the developer as well.
Sega did everything right with the DC. Free included modem, great price, great games. Its not thier fault Sony blitzes the minds of the average MTV watcher with ads every 2 seconds. The DC was discontinued due to bad sales, not bad technology or games.
I think you'll fine over 90% of people who purchased DC's were quite happy with it. I know I *am*:-)
The XBox does media checks to determine if the disc is recordable media and has the proper security signing. The mod chips override this and tell the XBox it is a legit disc.
Normally, all games need to have a MS authorised digital signature or the XBox won't touch it. The modchips allow 'unsigned' code to run.
Well, an open source project consisting of hundreds of developers worldwide thats been around for several years, dozens of ports (not to mention being included in quite a few linux distro's), yea I would say quite succesfull.
The DC has a 200Mhz processor and 16mb ram, no hdd XBox has a 733MHz PIII, 64MB RAM, and an 8 - 10GB HDD So your DC can only really handle the older/slower/smaller games while the XBox can churn out NeoGeo and Capcom CPS1/CPS2 hardware.
I love Dreamcast but I would hate to see someone rush out and buy one as a MAME box and then be stuck playing, say, Xevious and Gauntlet only;-)
Ive seen a lot of questions asked about the Dreamcast, plus a few inaccuracies posted, so here is my sad little attempt to inform:)
Some people are too lazy to follow the link to see the Dreamcasts tech specs, so here is the condensed version:
Hitachi SH4 @ 200MHz
8MB NEC PowerVR2 Gfx
2MB Yamaha Audio
12x GD/CD Drive
16MB System RAM
56k Modem Included (US Model)
Also there is some confusion as to pricing. In the US the Dreamcast's MSRP is $79.95 and many stores are selling for less than that to clear out remaining stock.
As for Input, the Dreamcast has 4 controller ports and a Keyboard and Mouse are available through standard game outlets. So you couild have Keyboard, mouse, and even a gamepad plugged in (xmame;p) with room to spare.
As for burning (and people having trouble doing so). Burning a bootable DC CDR can be tricky, any mistake WILL result in a coaster. There are several good dreamcast burning guides around at sites like http://www.boob.co.uk and http://mc.pp.se/dc/
Also despite rumors to the contrary, there are NO US or European Dreamcast's that won't boot CDR's. Sega only released 2 units in Japan ( The Sakura Tisen LE DC and the Hello Kitty DC) that won't boot CDR's. They had originaly wanted to do the same for the US, but Sega stopped production of the Dreamcast before this could be implemented.
Other than linux, there is also a Dremcast port of NetBSD (and indeed, this port seems to be more active than the linux port). Details @ http://www.netbsd.org/Ports/dreamcast/ .
Dan Potter has also made a homebrew Dreamcast/GBA Operating System / development library called KallistiOs (KOS) which is completly open source and well documented, which can be found at http://dcdev.allusion.net.
Nothing a high altitude nuclear explosion won't fix:) Enough argument already;) God knows 50 years from now we'll discover all the waves passing through our bodies gives us colon cancer or somthing.
To see how well Sony reacts to somthing like this. Almost every time you hear the words 'lawsuit' and 'Sony' together Sony is the one doing the suing. Also what happens if Sony looses? I'm sure the competiton would love loosing Big Brother in the HDTV wars....
OMFG!!!!111 It must be t3h men in black! America am Coprorate zealot pigz! OMGOMGOMG!!! Death to America!!!!111111
In other words, screw off and keep it on topic.
That's 'Niger'. There is a slight difference.

Erm, what's funny about this? It's true, it's really called gekko and based on the PPC 750. You want funny, look at the XBox ;-)
It's just a movie ;-)
